Still $300/month seems kinda high. Mine is nowhere near that despite totaling the 94 Trans Am in 07 and the 00 Trans Am in December 08, both my fault, and a couple misc. tickets.
Unless maybe you're talking a much newer coupe?
That quote was from state farm for a 04 coupe in LA. I have a clean record. Originally Posted by nfsp1

I still can't see how you pay for it working a wendy's and goin to school FT. Being that you are working at wendy's, your prob not making much over min wage at 25-30 hrs a week cause of school. So my guess your monthly take home is no more than $800 a month. You must not spend your money on anything else??

What other expenses do younger guys really have??
When i was a teen and into my early 20's, my only expense was cell phone bill and car insurance. My car was paid off ($4K Mustang), i lived at home while i went to college and still ate dinner with the parents. $800/month could easily pay my bills and allow me to go out and party...not like i had a mortgage, or student loans or any serious sort of debt at that point. During my off semesters of high school and college I worked as an electricians apprentice making $15-20/hour, so I only needed to work 3 months to cover my bills for the year. During school, i was a bum. But i could be because my monthly bills were maybe $300 tops. I prob could have handled the car payment for a G35 or something at the time...but basically i would have only been working for my car and not saving any money at all. Fortunately for me, at the time i had no interest in newer cars like a G35 or so
Those were the days
All i had to worry about was my car, and girls

$300/month does seem kinda high for a coupe. I pay $295/month now to insure my '06 sedan and a V8 Mustang with full coverage on both cars. I even have 1 ticket on my record.I'm 24 and I've always made my own car payment and insurance payment. That includes the 94 Trans-Am I had at 18 (yeah, and red at that!)

Mortgage, Utilities, and student loans do take a chunk out of the wallet.

Alright.... I'll add myself to the list.
Soon to be 26. This is my first car; was driving my parents' cars before but now they got 1 so it became impossible to share 1 car among the 3 of us. Purchased it with my own $$$
And yes, I just admitted... I still live with my parents.
Currently working, but I'll go back to grad school in 1-2 years and will have a nice car.
I barely see anyone young around here drive a G sedan.... so rare! I don't mind that in a way.

I'm not even lie, my parents pay for everything. Insurance and car, the only thing they aren't paying for is all the aftermarket parts and stuff I want, led, spoiler, tint etc etc. My dad is a mechanic for nissan(yes that is why he got the infiniti for me he got a discount). He hates people with aftermarket.

^ Kudos for your hard work. Getting off work at 1am and going to school at 7am can't be easy..
I'm a big believer in working hard but enjoy your college years. You have plenty of time to work and make money.

Janik and Cameron have always been a little overly mature in their attitudes with the way things work. I guess thats why we get along so well. My parents did buy my 1st car (a $4k eclipse) but I paid for everything else. On top of moving out as soon as I graduated high school and got a full time job. I didn't finish school, but going back now. I will be hustling to make mortgage, daycare, utilities, food, etc. and paying for what I need to for school, but having a goal makes it more satisfying. I have always believed in working for what you want, and my daddy instilled that in me young. Helps you to appreciate what you accomplish, ie, my G, house, etc.
Unlike my 21 year old brother who is nothing but a bum and never had to work for anything in his life. Brat. Now heis paying dearly for his decisions, while I am thriving from mine.
And I still qualify to be in this thread for another year, lol.

^My dad is very into deep conversations. I have learned a lot from him. Yes, i have this car, but my dad expects a lot more out of me than any of my other friends, and i also paid off 5k of it haha So that is good.
I plan on finishing up my 4 year, then going for my MBA in business.
