Painting my "sport" interior

I have an 03.5 Sport but I would love the "non-sport" interior look on the center console. To complicate things, I have Navi and notice a button on top of the unit that needs to be painted also, is it easy to take off and on?

What is the best way for me to make is as scratch resistant as possible while making it easy to clean. Btw, I prefer a matte finish.

Thanks!

Are you kidding!? You want to paint over the sport titanium console to make it look like the nonsport black?? I just went through the opposite process to make my gray console look like the titanium!

Although I think its foolish what you are trying to do, here's what I used: Krylon Fusion spraypaint. It takes about a week to fully cure, but even then it still might scratch if you use something sharp on it. Here's my write-up: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...onsole+upgrade

Man I have the non sport w/ navi and would love to trade. But the pieces aren't perfect. I might do what GixxerSteve did. Thanks for the post Steve.

I have the premium wood trim too. Would like the sport titanium pieces

Go with what you like but remember that if you are going to paint you better spend a lot of time on prep work or it will turn out like crap...

Good job on your conversion. Paint looks like a great match. Impressive shift area work, very nice. Thanks for the info.

The "titanium" look is a better look in the gray interior than black. I prefer to have a dark interior, feels more premium and muted than the contrast.

Honestly, after reading your write up, I think I'll pass on this project. Having Navi will def end up with unexpected probs.

I prefer the wood and "non-sport" look.

What do you mean by "the pieces arent perfect"?

Got pix?
