weird stuff going on

Has anyone seen this before?
My lights on the stereo and hvac controls go out sometimes and come back on later. I can still control the stereo by the steering wheel. When the lights go out on the HVAC I can't control anything but then the heat comes on in the floor position by itself. Same with the stereo, I have no control of it (besides steering wheel) when the lights are out.
It is rather bizarre and when I took it to the dealership for an oil change the lights were on so they didn't know what would have caused it.
It almost seems like there may be a short of some kind.
Any input would be greatly appreciated
Matt

This happened to me once. I pulled out the corresponding fuse and pushed it back in and everything went back to normal.

Its the circuit board that controls both the AC and the radio...it has a defect. There was a recall for it.

"On some model year 2003 G35 Sedans manufactured through August 21, 2002, the audio and temperature controls may not operate as expected. When using the audio equipment or the temperature controls, the unit may become inoperative. In some cases, this can be corrected by turning the ignition switch off and back on again. In other cases, the unit remains inoperative and requires service by an Infiniti technician. To prevent this condition, Infiniti has initiated a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the audio finisher circuit board on these vehicles. Use Infiniti Net to confirm if a specific vehicle is affected by this service campaign (P3104)."

Sign up for a free account at infinitihelp.com and you can view the recall for this (and others) or PM me and I'll email you the tech bulletin

I actually DID do a search but I didn't know it was called the audio finisher circuit board. So what I do is list my symptoms and hopefully someone may have an idea what I was talking about.
Thanks to everyone who responded (especially G35papa) because I have tons of info now that I know that it is called the audio finisher circuit board.
THAT is when I used the search function.

its either the audio board or the actual CD changer unit. it could be either. you will need the part number if your planning to get used. they are different in different models. ie. SAT botton, etc
