Always a problem using the warranty... at least at Hyatt Infiniti in Calgary!
I will keep this short as I can. I just purchased my 3rd G35. My first was 03, now 05 and a 07 in my garage waiting to sell my 05 (none of them from my only local dealer) because they suck! I had problems getting any kind of warranty work on my 03 so I took my 05 to a Nissan dealer for any servicing, plus Hyatt never answers their phone in the service department.
So my tire pressure monitor light came on & would not go out even thou the tires all had exactly 35lbs pressure. Ok it is defective? Took it to Hyatt & the service manager Ron would not cover it because he said "I did not take my car to Hyatt for regular servicing". What does that have to do with anything? My car has 36,000km (22,000 miles) on it & I have summer tires & rim set up so the factory wheels & tires have like 10,000km (6,000 miles) on them.
Long story short they charged my $73.00 to "reindex" the tires. It took 15 minutes and not covered under warranty. He said because I did not take it to his dealership for regular serving that the tires could have been rotated side to side and this caused the problem, of course this is not the case!
So I ask do you stay away because the service sucks, but then nothing is covered under warranty or do you put up with terrible service so you have a chance they will fix defects under warranty? Maybe another dealer can help me with this answer?
I emailed Infiniti North America & they sent back a form answer, "we are sorry but blah, blah, blah". I wrote a letter to Infiniti Canada, no response, & filed a claim with the BBB who have no teeth and the service manager states that it is not covered under warranty because it is over 12 months old.
I will also say I have had to fight every time I take my Infinitis in for any warranty work. I will definitely look at the Lexus or BMW next purchase because it is like there is no warranty on Infinitis? Maybe they are no better, but they can't be worse?

Plenty of stories of Hyatt suckage in the Canadian regional section. I bought my G used from a Toyota dealer (of all places) and they were great to deal with. I have not tried to get any warranty work done (I think I'm out of warranty anyway) because 1) Charlesglen had it all done up to date (by Hyatt) before I bought the car, 2) I dread taking it to Hyatt since they are the only game in town and know it, the arrogant ba$tards, and 3) I have not had one bit of trouble with my car in the 13 months or so I've owned it.
You should bring your car to Victoria Nissan/Infiniti. Although they have goofed a few times, they are always good about it and make it right if you are not happy with anything.
Over 12 Months?!? Is that in the warranty somewhere? When a CEL comes on in my G, the nav system immediately displays the directions to the "closest" dealer. It is not supposed to matter which one you regularly go to. Those guys are crooks!

Hey Swivel I bought my G at Charlesglen Toyota as well! I got a great deal on it and have had no problems. I'm thinking about leasing a new G but after hearing some of these stories I may look elsewhere. Maybe the new 375hp Hyundai???
When you have warranty issues you have to use an Infiniti dealer, not even Nissan dealers can touch it. Strange? I think Infiniti would be smart at letting Nissan dealers do warranty work as it would give consumers a choice as right now in most cities you have only one choice.
That new Hyundai Genesis does look interesting? I will see in a year or 2 how they rate & what the reviews are & by then I will be tired of my third G, especially tired of Hyatt

My dealer fixed everything that had to be under warranty no problem.417 Infiniti (Ottawa). But they also never answered there phone?! And took there time returning messages. My warranty just ran out Jan 21/08.Now my fingers are crossed and I'm driving it like it's a hearst.
