G35X mods-help please

Hi all!!
I am a new G35X owner (graphite/graphite,NAV,premium) and can't wait to start modifying the car.
Problem: I want to change the wheels to the staggered setup on the Z (the price is right for the wheels), but I am concerned with the VDC thinking the rear tires are slipping all the time. Is this a concern?

Has anyone installed a LSD unit in a G35X?

Does anyone make an exhaust system for the AWD cars?
Thanks!!

Clint did (THX723). And it does adversely affect the handling.

Sorry, Gurgen.....were you referring to the wheels or the LSD?

Thanks.

The wheels.

Clint has the track Z wheels on his G sedan. I have the Z VLSD.

Re: G35X mods-help please

Things to think about.

1) No, the VDC system won't think the rear wheels are slipping. It'll think the front wheels are slipping. (The smaller wheel has to spin faster to keep up with the larger wheel.) If the sizes are very close, it may be within the system's tolerances for straight-lines, but will affect the system's overall reactions.. it make kick in sooner or later than it normally would depending on the circumstances.

2) The sedan has a natural tendency to understeer. Going with wider rear tires will increase that tendency. Unless you're doing something else to the suspension to adjust the car's handling, you may be better served with wider (but same-sized) tires on all four wheels.

Speaking of wider on all four corners, which is the widest? 8.5 or 9?

Ryoken and Gurgen-- thanks for the info.
Double-DOH! on the front vs rear wheels......
I see your point about the staggered setup magnifying the car's tendency to 'push.' Will the Stillen adjustable F+R sway bars do the job adequately? (on a non-staggered setup)

Anyone know of an exhaust system for the 'X' cars?
Any probs with the AWD and Nismo LSD?
Thanks again!

Re: G35X mods-help please

You cannot use any avaliable sway bar on the G35X. The car use's a different front suspension (from the FX) than the other G35's and 350Z.

On the rear sway bar {EDITED, pending investigation of rear suspension}

You can send your stock oem front bar and all the mounting hardware to this company and have them bend you new custom front bar.

Re: G35X mods-help please

The current borla exhaust won't work on an FX, it hits the transfer case and the rear suspension. The coupe fitment is close, but not quite right... We're trying to get it all figured out currently and I'll post any updates, once we get everything figured out.
