Well, I dont know where exactly to post this, so if the mods feel that it needs to be moved, then .


As most of everyone out there is using their heat in their cars, I can not. I don't know whats going on. All I know is when the car is stationairy or barely moving I don't have heat. It just blows cold freezing outside air. Now, when I am driving, then the heat works.


Any ideas?

 

might be air in your coolant lines...have you ever overheated? search for "overheating" on here and my350z and you should find threads explaining how to solve the problem...good luck

 

Never overheated, but I did blow my engine and had it rebuilt during the summer. The heater could have been un operational since then but I never would have known.

Should I check to see if I have air in the lines? How would I go about doing this?

normally I would say thermostat, but your problem would be reversed.

 

Ok, coolant wasn't low. I even raised the front of the car up on a ramp and nothing. If anything, coolant started to come out of the radiator. I just purchased a Lisle Spill Free Funnel to screw onto the radiator. But where is there a bleeder valve? I've tried the one by the back of the engine on the passenger side, but nothing came out of it. The green HVAC one.

 

the green valve is NOT the bleeder valve. look farther back on the passenger side and you will see a black plastic screw with a philips head. its located on an actual coolant line. im not talking bout your a/c lines either. im talking bout the actual engine coolant. you have to bleed the air out of the system. have your car at normal operating temp. and slightly unscrew that bleeder cap...you should hear some air coming out. keep it open until coolant starts to bubble. you may have to repeat this step a couple of times. let the car cool down, then repeat step

take a look at this thread. i tried all the suggestions and i think my problem is fixed (overheating when using a/c, heater, no heat at idle)
