When I first tested a G35, my only gripe was that the gate for manual actuation of the shifter was AWAY from the driver instead of being towards the driver.
Many have explained this as being attributable to the Japanese domestic sedan having RHD, and the interior was designed around that fact (eg: radio/nav controls.)
I just found a pic of a Skyline v35 (JDM version of our G35) that has the shifter gate ON THE LEFT SIDE!!!!
Is it possible to switch? Is there any mechanical reason why it couldn't be done?
Is there anyone who has made the switch?

Well, now that looks like they gave all of us the wrong shifter. I wonder who on this site will be the first to have it changed?

Not I said the 6mt guy. Really what would be the benefit other than lightening of the wallet.

If you had the auto you would understand.It feels weird to push the shifter way over to the right. It leaves you feeling much less sporty if you will.

note in that pic the driver is on teh right side..pushing the shifter away from them (just like the us spec)
