In the manual that came with the car, it points out that if you hold down the lock button for 3-5 seconds, the windows will roll up automatically. Mine don't. I tried 10 seconds, no go.
It also states the windows will roll down if the unlock button is held. Mine don't.
Am I missing something here? I have had my '04 auto w/premium for only 2 months. The weather has finally reached a temp that benefits an open window or two. I did try the method of inserting the key & turning it forward to close the windows. That did work, but no remote.

hmmm I know the 02-03 only roll down. They do not roll-up. Don't know about the 04's...

Mine doesn't roll up with the remote either. I read the manual and I don't recall seeing that it is supposed to. Only roll down. I have a 2004 w/ Premium. If you can tell me what page you saw it in the manual, I will check it out and see what I can find out.

You can roll them up with the key in the door, but not with the remote. Look in the Audio/Video forum, though.. a guy there is building a module to create that feature.
IIRC, the roll down feature works with all doors unlocked.. so in the default setting where the first click unlocks the driver's door and the second click unlocks them all, you have to hit unlock twice, and hold it down on the second click. If you have your settings adjusted to open all doors on the first click, then the window roll down should operate on the first click.

One other thing I forgot to mention.
You have to have the Premium Package (with the auto up-down rear windows) for all four windows to go down with the remote or up/down with the key. If you do not have the premium package, the key/keyfob will only operate the front two windows.

Mine only roll down when the unlock button is pressed for more than 3 seconds. My sedan was the same.

I don't have the premium package and I thought for sure that my rear windows will go down with holding the key fob, but they go down sequentially, with the front windows first, then the back windows a half second later. My manual also states the same and I don't recall it specifying only with the premium package. Now I will have to check to make sure I am not losing my mind....

OK, I did make a false assumption. Nowhere does it say that the windows raise with the remote. I must have confused it with the key in the door feature. I apologize.
I have to blame the error on the fact that I was so excited the night I brought my G home, I sat in the car, reading the whole manual in one pass. It took a long time. Many of the features I did not try out at that time (such as the windows) due to the weather & darkness. Now that the weather here has improved, I tried to access my memory & came up with my last post.
Sorry, I will be more careful with my questions.
I'm still having trouble resetting the ECU. Should I just disconnect the battery?
Thanks all for your replies.

no worries Geezer, we don't have to be perfect, that's why we buy cars that bring us one step closer to perfection.
There is a post w/ all sorts of details about ECU re-setting in technical modifications I believe - it should give you the answers you're looking for.
