price of G35
Recently, I went to the infiniti dealership with my parents, a black 2003.5 G35 Sedan, with premium, sport, and aero packages, and a trunk mat came out to be $34,400 or something like that..........is that a rip off?, I think that includes some kind of poly-clearcoat that this dealership automatically puts on, is that a decent price? im really unsure and i dont want my parents to pay too much.....also is it worth buying the extended warranty? thanks for ur help...

Re: price of G35
Not sure what a good price is for a G in the US. But I object to the dealers automatically charging for poly finishes and rust protection, etc. when they are not ordered by the customer. Dealer markup is almost always much higher than you can get elsewhere and these treatments are rarely necessary. Find out how much for the car without.
Extended warranties are almost NEVER of much benefit and Consumer Reports has done some good articles about this. They do not recommend them. Hope this helps.

Re: price of G35
I think in general if you can get the car out the door at approx. MSRP (or 500 over MSRP) it is a good price. Depending on the availability at the dealership, you are probably looking at 500 over invoice for the car. Always ask them to show you the invoice price. Even at the invoice price, I think dealer are making at least 5%. I definitely agree the additional add-ons such as tinted windows, clear coat, rust protection are often over priced. Good luck on your new purchase!
If you live around LA, I can recommend the sales which I bought mine from.

Re: price of G35
I think **** meant invoice, not MSRP as he referenced in his post. One should never may MSRP for a car, unless it's a Gcoupe or Zcar right now.
Add-ons are certainly overpriced, a way for the dealer to include additional profit in the deal.
From Edmunds, it seems than holdback on the G is about 3% of the invoice price (loose estimate).
BoneD.. glad to see you're at invoice + 3%, congrats. It seems like the price on the G is certainly beginning to soften.
