G35 or 540?

Re: G35 or 540?
I love both cars... Both are powerful and quick but what is it you want? V8 power with luxury ride unless sport package in the 540, or great power in the G35's V6, with some luxury but very sporty at the same time. Stick in the 540 and stick in the G35 shouldnt be too far away in performance either, only on the top end will the 540 have an edge. iLLG

Re: G35 or 540?
I agree with most of the other people. The BMW 540 is in a different league. I sold my 2000 M5 for my G35x, though the thrill is pretty much gone I love the fact I have a car I can drive all season long. And the G35 Sedan looks very nice and got a little power nothing compared to the M5 nor 540. I would have kept the M5 but I'm getting married, so I needed to have a car that the misses can drive. What better car then the G35x. I know the 540 had problems with the head gasket, but I'm not sure if they fixed it in 1999 or 2000 or 2001, I think it was called Naskil or something like that. If it doesn't have the bad head gasket then it's a toss up. You're definitely getting a lot of car for the money with the 540. If you live in a state that doesn't snow, I would probably suggest getting the 540. But if you live in the midwest or somewhere where it snows a lot, get the G35x.
...If gas mileage is an issue, you will get about the same gas mileage with both cars. I got 18-19 miles/gallon in my M5 and I get about 16-18 miles/gallon in my G35x. I know the regular G35 will probably do a little better.
Good luck, both cars are great cars.
