I got some from my local dealer's parts department, I am not sure if you can get them elsewhere.

Re: Crush Washer for oil plug..

You need to get them from the Infiniti parts department.
I change our Maxima's oil myself, so I bought a bag of those
crush washers from Nissan. They don't sell them individually.

Re: Crush Washer for oil plug..

Instead of buying a new crush washer everytime you change oil try using a thread sealent. However, do not use a product like Loktite! I use my wife's discarded fingernail polish. Yamabond also works well. Only a thin layer on the threads is required. I've used this method for years on a variety of cars; no problems.

Re: Crush Washer for oil plug..

I just went to the nissan dealer (all the v-6s are the same) and the just gave me a couple for free. We're talking a 5 cent part. So if your dealer ship has any decent customer service what so ever, then they will just give it to you for free when you buy the oil filter.

Re: Crush Washer for oil plug..

If you order the oil filters from Grubbs, they include a washer for each filter purchased... very classy!

Re: Crush Washer for oil plug..

Teflon plumbers' tape works very well. Just a coupla snug wraps around the bolt threads and you can likely use the factory washer for the life of the car.

Re: Crush Washer for oil plug..

It is unlikely that shredded teflon tape bits would get from the oil pan into the engine or filter, but I would not want it in there. I suggest sticking with the crush washer.
