Difference between JDM and USDM versions

i'm new here and i own a JDM 250GT

to the best of my knowledge everything should be the same except for the litre size of the engine

does anyone know other differences? do all parts (performance/ exterior) that are made for the G35 sedan in US fit the JDM 2.5L model?

I highly doubt the 2.5L performance parts are going to fit.

Post up a pic of your engine bay and I might be able to help more.

What year is yours? Most of the exterior parts should fit.

mine is a 2004 model and it's the same as the first gen G in US

i will take a picture of my engine bay this weekend and post it up
from what i can tell the layout is exactly the same as the 3.5L and it would be great to know if i can use any of the intakes for my 2.5

i'm looking to put on the Z tube and JWT pop charger

It's not a 4, it's a VQ25DD six, same as the VQ35 but smaller bore/stroke. It has direct injection as well, unlike the 35 from what I know. Here's a pic of mine:

I think most of the external engine parts will fit. I've bought a radiator off the US market for mine so far. Things like the supercharger and turbo kits won't fit because of the engine capacity (too much boost & fuel) and injectors might not fit either.

I also bought a USDM battery cover (the JDM battery is on the left side) and it needed modification to fit. I need to take a new pic of the bay to show it. Planning to get a new CF engine cover sometime. Also bought a JDM battery cover off the US market - fit like a charm.

If you look at the bottom right of the pic, the JDM 250GT has a cover on the air filter box where the G35 has a little snorkel. I pulled my cover off and the car sounds a lot better

Looks like the intake would work. Can you take a picture with the engine cover off too? I think there is a chance the plenum spacer may fit as well.

As for the SC/Turbo kits, I bet you could use them as long as you got a re-tune. I'm not sure the plug and play engine management would be the same since your ECU may be different but something like the emanage ultimate should work.

Are you sure the VQ25DE is direct injection? I have the VQ30DD in my 2001 V35 Skyline and that has direct injection, apparently the "DD" signifies direct but I understood "DE" stood for Standard injection? I'd be very interested to know as then I can also fit a Z-Tube in place of the standard intake.

Cheers
Matt

Sorry, I didn't realize I had put DE in my first post, it should have been DD. Must be a holdover from my R32 days (RB20DET, no DD's back then). I'll edit. My engine cover says "Neo-Di" on it, Di for direct injection.

Here's a page from the Nissan parts system showing the 25DD plenum parts.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Does anyone know then if a Z Tube intake from the VQ35DE fit directly with the VQ25/30DD without modification by any chance?

By looks the plenum is the same. A spacer may help you like it helps us.
