This question is more so targeted to people that have done quite a few mods. I've always wanted a car that can hit 60 MPH in 2nd gear. I have a G35x so it only comes in an automatic. Does anybody out there have an automatic that hits 60 MPH in 2nd? If so, please list your mods....I would like to duplicate them if it's reasonable.

60 mph in 2nd gear has nothing to do with how fast the car is but rather the gear ratio. If your automatic cannot hit 60 mph in 2nd gear then you can only do two things: (1) increase the rev limiter and shift manually or (2) get really tall tires

Mine goes to ~60 in 2nd. I do have my rev limiter raised to 7200 and even a shorter final drive ratio of 3.54 from the Z.

You need the rev limiter raised and you can do it NP. You need to use manumatic to do it reliably after that. The rev limiter is raised after market by a Technosquare ECU mod.

I do it all the time - I shift at about 65 mph to 3rd. Redline shift basically.

Mine's bone stock and hits 62-63 at the rev limiter in 2nd.

 

Ryoken mine does the same exact also!! End of second rite on the redline im at 60 and get up to 62-3 before bouncing off the limiter!!

Maybe the G35x is geared a little differently due to the extra weight and the all wheel drive system. I bounce off the rev limiter at 58 MPH. Can anybody else with a G35x confirm that? Do the ECU mods void the warrantee? As we all know, if the car has a serious issue we can remove the bolt-ons before giving the car back to Infiniti to see what is wrong. If I was to put the ECU upgrade chip on would they be able to tell that I was using it?
