Remove Body Side Molding?

Has anyone done this on the sedan? I was thinking about it but wanted to make sure they were attached by adhesive only. I had an old car that I tried doing this on and it turns out there were holes all along the door holding them in.

BTW - I'm considering this for two reasons:
- I think it will give the car a cleaner/smoother look
- The color of the painted plastic is nowhere near a match to the door paint...

That's funny, the color of my body side molding is a spot on match. I am too afraid of door dings to even consider a move like this. Good luck....

The colors should be spot on. The thing that is most likely making it look a different color is the angle of view. The sun's reflection will give it a diff. look in color. I think that is esp. true for you car color. Not quite silver, and not quite dark enough.
