If so, how can you tell the difference between it and the regular 2004 Sedan?

 

Best I can tell via VIN numbers I have one.

I've been in other 2004 sedans and didnt notice anything right off - my seat hurts my *** and the car hauls ***...same as other 2004 sedans ive been in =)

I must not be readin this correctly.. my vin is an E24M1XXXXX number, is that a 2004 or a 2004.5? why does the * exist instead of the #?

 

I wasn't aware of any significant mid year changes. the reason there is a 2003.5 is the trunk if different and a few other things

This is a good question. I have not seen any official reference, before this, to a 2004.5 model. I have no idea what the differences are!!

mine is the same as Hey_Ya but the last 4 are diferent since thats the actual unit your car is - ie his was number 6233 made with that VIN number...

so are there any real differences (like those found with 2003 and 2003.5) between 2004 and 2004.5 other than the VIN numbers and service manuals?

I think they reduced the horsepower to meet stricter emissions standards. : p

 

Yeah, that'd be the only likely candidate, all Oct '03 and later builds are stricter. The manual may have an updated section pertaining to that. Funny though, I've never heard of any real difference yet. I have a 2004.5 coupe. Guess I should grab the manual and figure it out myself.
