I am currently running Z Track wheels with 235-45-18s, and stock suspension. I am looking at going to coilovers and lowering about an inch. The wheels/ tires are about flush with teh fender, I am concerned there may be a rubbing issue when I lower it. I would prefer not to roll my fneders.
What combination is everyone running, tire drop etc, and have you had roll or trim your fenders? Any help would be appreciated. If this isn't goig to work, it may be time to look at wheels, along with coilovers.

 

You should be fine with that tire size. As you lower the car the negative camber will increase which should keep you from rubbing with that tire size / wheel offset combo. If not, rolling is very easy; I did mine my self with a baseball bat and a jack.

 

1.3" drop all the way around, no rubbing what so ever with 235/45/18's.

no fender modifications here either.

 

Gosh...a nice set of Z track rims seems to be hard to find in the Bay Area. I've been looking to do the same.

 

An Inch in the front will not make the wheels line up with the fenders. I would say about 2 inches in the front and 1.3 in the rear. I'm about to put S-techs on my car with stock 18s and should not have to roll my fenders. Right now I have 350z springs that lowers the car 1inch all the way around, and I have had no rubbing or had to roll fenders.

 

Where are you guys finding your 350z track wheels. I'm on the east coast. Just wondering if your picking them up locally or off a forum, ebay or whatever. Also what are you guys paying for them?

 

i have 245/40/18 in the back dropped on z springs.....when i didnt roll my fenders, it would only rub during hard turns.......now my fenders are rolled.......it wont touch at all.....i think you'll be fine with 235 for sure.

 

I just put on S-Techs 2.0 F 1.3 R w/ Z Track rims, no rubbing issues. Recently posted pics under "Picture Share - under OB sedans".

 

Can't speak for everyone. I got my wheels from a member on My350z, through the market place. Got all 4 wheels, with just`about worn out tires, and tps for under a grand shipped.

 

I just bought a set in good shape with legal tires, front and rear mismatched. One wheel had just been refinished so was perfect (cost the seller $110) The others were slightly marked but generally in good enough shape.

I paid $700 in Raleigh, NC, without tire pressure sensors.

I talked to another guy locally who paid $500 and I saw a set go for $500 last year.

 

I've been running coupe 18"x8" +33 offest with 245/45's and with 255/40's on the rear. My car is lowered about 1-1 1/2" Putting thses wheels on DID require rolling the fender then they tucked in perfectly. I had a local shop do it. They did it with a hammer, it clearly took a knack but not hard if you know how I would say.

 

Having just bought the track wheels myself, I was looking for used race tires. I have a chance to buy 285/30/18 and 225/40/18 half worn Hoosiers. I'm afraid that the 285's are almost sure to rub badly on the outside. They are theoretically going to be sticking out about 3/4" more than what I've got and I don't think it's going to work. (Besides the fact that 8 1/2" is pretty narrow for them. I think I'm going to go buy them anyway cuz they're only $40 for the set. Woo hoo! I can run the 225's in front and sell the 285's if they don't fit, as I expect. Who knows they might work out and I can use them for some track days. I won't have a power on oversteer problem...

 

It won't work without rolling the fenders, that being said how much do u want for the 18" track wheels?

 

I think they're hard to find anywhere. People hang onto them and there's always folks that want em. I've been looking for a year. Missed one set locally 6 months ago and just got my set now. If you look on Ebay nationally there usually are none for sale. I keep an eye on Craigslist, and the forums.

 

i dont think anyone is looking for these that badly considering quite a few of the lowball offers i've received for mine. If anyone wants to shoot me an offer that i cant refuse i am always open to sell them
