Question hopefully to be part of the G35 sedan family...

Hey everyone,

I am located all the way in Montreal, Canada and I am in the market to purchase a G35 sedan automatic. I had my eye on the 2003 due to my personal budget.
I am planning to paint all the lower sills, change my trunk for a 2004 ( to get rid of the doggy door) and lower it with some 350z springs...

I would like you guys to give me your advise on a 2003 G35 silver that has
close to 160km (mostly highway) already equipped with some nice adr black 19inch rims. I am aware of the high kms, but i verified if all the recalls/tsb were done by infiniti canada and checked after 100km if it was properly maintained. I said to myself that with todays technology (VQ35de) we can push the kms on a car close to 250000km without any problems.
and all this is attached to an attractive price of 12,000$ CAD

Let me know what you guys think, if you would pick it up if you were in my shoes...

thank you for your time

Chris

Hi Chris and welcome.

You might want to post in the Canadain section as well.

The price sounds right..actually a little low. Maybe some of the other Canadian members could chime in.

Price is great, but this is a lot of km on a young car. Keep in mind that the national average for driving is about 20,000 km a year, this car has seen more like 25,000+. This coupled with rims makes me more wary that the previous owner drove the snot out of it.

Yes, these cars can likely take 250,000+ km, but if they weren't driven properly on their first 160,000 (or maintained appropriately) they can't be expected to go this far.

I wouldn't worry too much about the high km's.

It is a trade off though. If you continue to search I'm certain that you'll find other similar cars with fewer km's, but then you'll get pinched on the price and you definitely have to work with your personal budget.

Personally, I think its a buyers market. A few friends of mine did some extensive shopping and timed their purchases really well and ended up with significant bargains on their cars.

Bargain hard. Drive safely and good luck.

Hey Chris, sounds like a great deal, I have the later 03 model that came out without the doggy door and 140,000 km on it and Infiniti just changed all 4 doors because of rust on the rear pillars, its 5 years old and I think she can
go to 10 if properly maintained. A few minor problems but thanks to this
board they are all fixed.

GBoy

BTW I'm in Montreal too..

Keep the doggie door trunk, I love those!

I would double check the maintenece records that you mentioned. That doesn't sound too bad for $12,000. I'd give it a really good once over if you decide to get it, replace plugs, fuel filter, air filter, etc. Do you have any pictures of it that you could post?
