Need Help Painting

For 2003 g35 sedans, has any one ever painted the black bottom part the same as the car color? I don't know the technical term for that area, I want to say bottom moldings but I think that's incorrect. If any one has ever painted that part, could you provide pics? Or is this a bad idea? I'm thinking about doing this instead of buying a kit (depending on ppl's opinions). Any help would be much appreciated! Thx.

Also, from ttrank's sticky:

Q - Can I paint my dark gray side sills on my 03/04 sedan?
The best option is to replace them with the Nismo (Aero) sides. But, they can be painted. Some paint shops will say no and others say yes. With the proper prep and right paint/flex agent/clear they can be painted to match. Many members have done it.
Based on my research, it sounds like the body shops around us charge ~$400+ to paint the side and rear sills. A couple shops actually quoted me ~$800-$1000! I'm still on the fence about getting them painted vs just going with the Nismo sides/rear.

BTW, I think most people on this board call these things "side/rear sills" or "side/rear skirts." The service manual refers to the side sills as "center and rear mud guards." Not sure what the manual calls the dark gray part under the bumper.

My before and afters are in my DIY. The process is really quite simple. The hardest part is all the prep work. The paint has adhered flawlessly.

the after isn’t very good... in fact it's to show other things on the car, but it should give you an idea... if you search around you'll find lots of car that have done it and there are a bunch of pics around... good luck, show us yours when your done

Yep. I went to the auto paint store and got the Nissan factory black made by PPG.
