'04 Sedan headlight turn signal - 7440 or 7443?

Just trying to figure this out. I did lots of searching, but there never seemed to be a clear answer for this.

My understanding is that in the '03-'04 sedans, the headlight turn signals are 7440 (single filament) as they only go on as blinkers.

This is different than the '05-'06 sedans which have 7443's (dual filament) as they go on with the headlights as well as the second filament coming on when the blinker is used.

Is this correct?

I want to order some bulbs, but need to confirm this first.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT - sorry, please move this to the lighting forum if it is more appropriate there.

Is this the reverse of coupes? The threads I found indicated '03-'05 coupes had the 7443 while the '06+ coupes had 7440.

Also, I want to buy a set of 7440's from this site:
http://silverbulbs.com/

When emailing the owner, he said I needed to figure out if the 7440 bulb on my car is a glass based bulb or a plastic based bulb. Anyone know which one it is?

This is a pict of the ones he sells (which is plastic based):

Here is an example of the glass based ones:

3 of us already told you - 7440 is correct for the 04 sedan... that was you question right?

Edit: oh, you’re asking about the plastic vs glass base on this one...

do you mean the base of the bulb or the material is plastic based?... If it's the base of the bulb (where it plugs in) if I remember correctly its glass too... I'd have to look, I just had my OEM replaced but they are at home...

Why won't the plastic ones work?

Also, can anyone else suggest some good chrome coated 7440's (not those piaa orange ones I linked to earlier) that are worth getting?

no one said they wouldn't... I thought you were asking if OEM were glass... they are... try the plastic - I imagine you're getting a good deal on them or you wouldn’t be asking, so if they don’t work no big loss (or return them)...

As far as the PIAA chromium orange (I think they call it something different) - that’s what I just got and am happy with them. I think you would be too... what are you trying to accomplish overall?

My OEM's are glass base. I have also used the plastic base ones, in fact the LED's I have in mine now are plastic base. Either one will work as long as the bulb number is right.

As for the silver bulbs, those work. I would also look into LED's.

Thanks guys. The seller seemed to think they wouldn't be interchangable, but that didn't make much sense to me since a 7440 is a 7440...

I'm planning on doing the ACC Demon eyes and figured I would do clear turn signal swap (yes...I know dremelling is involved). I need an amber light (since the stock one is white), and want it all to appear clear and smooth (no egg drop appearance).

Thanks for all the help guys. This site rocks!
