Why cant i fill my gas tank to full every time?

New 05 g35 owner. 43k. Sometimes when i go to fill my car, like last week, It went completely full. I was at a quarter tank and filled up close to an additional 15 gallons.

today (and i have had this problem before) i cant fill past 3/4 tank and the pump handle keeps clicking ever time i pull it. last time it actually spewed gas only at 3/4 tank.

WHAT is the DEAL? it is Hit or miss? so very confused.

I have the same issue now on my 03 sedan. If I ever need to take it in for other fixes, I may bite the bullet and get this fixed, but for now it just means I pay less for a 'tank' of gas.

I had this problem happen to me for the first time last night. I am in a 06 5AT myself. I found that if I push the nozzle up or don't put it in all the way the problem dissapeared.

I have the problem at some gas stations, but not others. I just don't go where I have the problem.

I was out of warranty and still had the stealership fix it. Not too bad, guy nice enough not to charge me the 3.5 hours the warranty usually takes, only charged me 2 hours (STILL A LOT THOUGH).

Couldn't wait to empty my tank to see if it was fixed. I found that I still have the same problem. Taking it back, anyone know if they usually have warranty on their labor? Can I take it back and fixed pro bono?
