Wet, dirty window when rolled up. Any ideas?

I took my 05 sedan in for some window rattles over the winter, and lo and behold, the dealer was able to fix those rattles (after 3 attempts). Well, now that it's starting to warm up, I can start rolling down the windows. But, I noticed that when the windows have been wet (as in after a rain shower or after washing the car), and I roll them down and then back up, the water is not cleaned off the windows after rolled up. But, it only happens to the windows/doors that were touched to fix the rattles.

This happens even after a car wash and I've dried the windows. In other words, water is somewhere inside the door, and when rolled down, the window comes up full of water and smears the windows.

I checked the service manual, but couldn't see any parts that were in the door for cleaning the glass on its way up. But, there must be something there as the untouched windows come up clean as a whistle.

Does anyone know if there's something there that may have not been put back right and it's causing the windows to come up wet and dirty? Or, any other ideas?

I have a dealer appointment next week, and would like to go with a small idea of what could be wrong. They usually need some guidance

Thanks!

Same thing happens to me. It's not uncommon. When it rains or I wash my car and even though it's dry, there is some water left. Don't worry about it, it's normal

I think some of my rattles in my 06 sedan may be coming from my passenger front window. Can you give me an idea of what the service techs did? My service techs where I live need some guidance as well. My rattle is kind of werid. The front window rattles a bit on rough roads (sounds like a muffled pop/buzz) and but it goes away if you slightly roll the window down such that the window is still sealed.

I expect a little water to be there, but it wasn't like that before. It actually obstructs my view now when I roll the window up. Could you quantify what you mean by "some water"? When I roll my window up, I would say there are more than 100 drops still on the glass....and when the drops dry, forget it....the view is obstructed as the glass is smeared with dried water spots. Does your car leave about 100 drops after rolling up the window?

By the way, I'm not exaggerating when I say about 100 drops.

They actually did my front driver's and passenger's side windows as they were both rattling. I had the same symptoms. With the windows closed and riding over a bumpy road, the windows would seem to rattle. Also, when playing the radio, sometimes they would rattle too. When I drove with the tech, we were able to push on the window and stop the rattling. Thus, we could conclude that the window was loose "somewhere" and this was causing it to rattle. They did apply the window/door rattle TSB(ITB02-021b) but to no avail. This is the TSB where they put foam in the window seal, and inside the door, etc.

Luckily, one day while detailing my car, I was kneeling down and swung my door open and I was able to hear this ticking noise coming from inside the door. So, I was able to swing the door back and forth and reproduce the ticking sound. You have to get close to the door to hear it but it's audible. The noise comes from around the door handle area. So, I concluded that the window was loose inside the door and not around the seal, etc as the dealer thought.

I told them that there must be a loose bolt/nut that has the window loose. This is what they wrote on my service invoice: "Insulated all contact points on door, tightened all bolts"

The noise has been gone ever since. But, now I have this 100 water drop issue Good luck getting it fixed. It's a pleasure to drive around without that rattle!

Just don't roll the window down for about an hour after the car gets wet.

Thanks for the detailed info. I'll have to test some of your ideas out on my door. I'd trade a wet window for a rattle free window any day.
