Seats put legs to sleep

Hey Guys,

I bought my wife a 06 Sedan for her B-Day. We've had the car for 1 month now, it's only got 26k on it. We really love the car, but the problem is if she's in Driving or riding passenger in the car for more than 20 minutes, her Right leg, starts going numb. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix for it aside from replacing the seats?

Thanks in advance for any input you may have!

maybe try looking into a sort of seat pillow or comfortable seat cover? does she not fit well in the seat or is it just an awkward position for her?

not quite sure what it is, but it's the only car that is done this that we've owned over the years. We've adjusted the seat in every way thinkable, yet have the same results....

she's only 5'4 (I'm 6'2) yet I don't have an issue with it.

what year is your car? There are several huge threads about the comfort or uncomfortable driver's seat. It seems to be the seat controls that cause the problem. The controls are kept in place by a metal bracket. But this doesn't explain why it would happen when she is a passenger...Search this forum for more info.

My only suggestion is to put the seat on the decline to relieve pressure from back of the knee , if its on an incline I can imagine the legs leaning right on to the seat, with a decline she can keep both feet flat on the ground.

Cut off her right leg! j/k

Here is what im thinking. The previous owner was probably a large couple (deuce, deuce and half) and they probably ruined the integrity of the seat cushion. I know I am saying this all in gist, but thats my bet for real. Its amazing how fast seats can be ruined by heavy-set people.

Does the seat leather show any premature signs of age? Does the seat creak when you sit down? Does the leather have signs of stress by the stitches?

well she's compressing her sciatic nerve probably at a point just lateral to the ischial tuberosity

your fix would be to either
1) elevate her rear
2) reduce compression under her thigh

has she tried simply putting a pillow down on the seat?

You say you've tried adjusting the seat so I'm sure you've tried this but if you elevate the rear portion only of the seat this should reduce pressure on the thigh at the front of the seat. I would think this is the culpret. A pillow might work too but sounds uncomfortable to me. However, I don't think you eill have the option on the passenger seat. I only adjusts fore and aft.
