Radio Problem!

Radio Problem!
So I have an 03 G35 sedan. Recently my cd player on my radio stoped working. Now I have a few questions about it.
1. Is it a common problem for all G35's?
2. If so, is it worth it to replace it with a used unit or should I upgrade to a aftermarket?
3. Is there anyway to fix it?
4. Is there a code for the radio?

be more specific. what is it doing when you try to play CD's? is there an error message, noises, or jammed cd's?
I just paid 130 for a dash adapter off of ebay so i can hook up an aftermarket cd player... i don't see you finding that much cheaper than that, so you really have to ask yourself if audio is that important to you. i'm sure you could fix it at the dealer but you'll get raped on price, i assume.

2. Aftermarket, no questions asked.
3. Probably, but it'd cost you an arm and a leg most likely.
4. No.
Granted, I'm a bit biased since I install for a living, but going aftermarket is one of those things you'll NEVER look back on and go "fvck!"

The Metra version is CHEAP. And by cheap I don't mean price, I mean quality. The color doesn't match the factory aluminum trim for shat.

call them, ask for Josh, tell him Brandon Lynch sent you from G35driver. If you do a search on here for "JML Audio" you'll find one of his setups he's done for another member. He can get the true JDM dash pieces for an investment of around $550, but I can tell you they're TOP NOTCH QUALITY.

I bought a remanufactured unit off ebay for about $200. Plenty of info on the forum about swapping it out - just search. Doing mine took about 2 hours including the time I spent trying to swap the face plate, since the replacement was a different colour. Sadly the old plate didn't fit so I now have a graphite redio in a tan dash. Looks good, though. Works perfectly.

sounds like the motor went out... if your good with electronics, open it up and test the motor out... if not, just start sniping ebay factory ones... eventually you'll get lucky... i think before you do anything you have to decide what you're willing to spend... i'd say just to repair it, cheapest option, if you don't go to the dealer, about 200 bux...

Mine's up for grabs. I just replaced it with a new DD unit. First with best offer takes.
My head unit has probably 60 hours or less on the CD player and < 1hr on the cassette since I normally just listen to FM and use an FM transmitter to listen to MP3s. So if you're interested, let me know.

You get what you pay for when it comes to audio equipment 95% of the time. When it comes to "fit & finish" pieces, you get what you pay for 100% of the time.
