Doesnt matter if your tails are tinted or not the brake lights work and thats that. Good luck with your repairs.

Hope insurance takes care of this with no problems, that MIGHT be totaled.
How would a $6000 wreck on a car that's worth $30,000 be anywhere close to a total? Needs a rear floor, Rt Qtr, rt taillight, rear body panel, decklid hinges, rr cover, and some other odds and ends....

Sorry to hear about the wreck, call your dealership to and ask someone in service which body shop they have the best experiences with...

Bro, if that's what you REALLY think, PLEASE PLEASE STOP breaking it down!!!

even it it takes $10,000 total (and that's doubtful) it still won't total! And that car has no 'frame' to be damaged, it has sub-frame components that are completely replacable as are all other inner and outter body parts. As for suspension, they can do a 4whl alignment to check for all that. $69.50.

It's not an easy one to fix, but that's why I said to call the service dept and ask them who they recommend to fix it. If you are in Memphis, or even close, our shop does all the work for Acura of Memphis, as well as many of the other high-end dealers around town (all by word of mouth, no advertising, no contracts). One day I walked out front and there was a line of cars, all w/in 2 years old... 2 Acuras, 2 M-B's, 1 Lexus and a Lotus...

First off the car is worth ~$22k private party in great condition, not $25k.

Second off I highly doubt this will be any kind of total. I have seen G's with similar value get ~$17k in damage and be fixed. This car will be repaired.

No offense dude.. an 06 Sedan is worth 16-17k on a GOOD trade-in at most... so if the damage is over 10k.. the car is going to be totaled.

Our cars arn't worth **** right now

I guess I'll be the one to ask you how you know then, Mr. Know-it-all. Different insurance companies and different states vary by how they do things. For example, here in Missouri, with Country Insurance, they go by the average of the KBB, Black Book, and the current street value--which is assessed by viewing online ads from cars that have already sold. When my Scion tC was totalled out they told me it was worth $13,500, whereas KBB was only around $12,500; because of the street value in the area being higher, I got more for the car. Granted, I also did $11,800 worth of damage, and that's where the Insurance Adjuster decided to stop. We estimated with everything, including labor and paint, it would've added up to around $15,000.

I hope you got a nice check for diminished value. The insurance companies always try to hide the fact that you can collect on that. Now the car has a history and hurts the resale value. The insurance company is responsible for coming up with that money.

Because I spent the last 2 years writing estimates and doing VIR's (vehicle inspection reports) for our body shop. We are direct-repair for State farm and TN farm bureau, so I did plenty of total loss evaluations. And yes, where you live does make a big difference, but that only comes into play once it becomes a 'total'. Which is a value set by the particular insurance company, and can be adjusted on a case by case situation, depending on the vehicle... I have seen them decide to fix a 98 Cherokee that was nailed in the side, but should have totalled... and I've seen them total a 1 year old Acura TSX that "on paper" was not technically a total, but the car ran off into a ditch and the entire car was twisted from front to back...

from my experience, anyone who walks up to a car and says "Dang, looks like the frames bent... definetly gonna total now..." They have no clue what they are talking about...
