I can spin the tires on a base civic without any effort.

Does that mean the civic is fast?

Spining the tires is not a good measurement of power. Quarter mile trap speed is.

I shouldn't have said that it's impossible to spin the tires without brake stalling because I do remember a couple of time where I've done it trying to cross traffic and I nailed the throttle in 1st and the tire spun a couple times and then the VDC stopped it. I can't do it with my 18" PZeros though. They bite much harder than my 17" Avons do.
no TC yet... but yes gears are different, however I spun with 3.3 too... sometimes more than others, and track prep made a difference... but it happened (and still does) a lot.

I didnt think it was due to anything particular I did to the car... I wasnt aware that it isnt common

+1 heres mine at like 2k...

My car is the same way, if i just drive hard off a line, no brake torque, it hooks up and goes. A little brake, a little spin, a lot of brake more spin.

I can get smoke if i hold the brake lol

101mph at 1200' elevation? Nice. When was this? What about ET? The best I've mustered in 1200' DA is 99.9mph.

As for the Civic comparison, my old 90 CRX Si with 106hp would oblierate the tires in 1st, spin hard into 2nd, and bark 3rd. That car did 15.8s

Forget spinning tires. Just downshift 1-2 gears with the manual mode shifter and stomp it.

If you still want a little more power, get plenum spacer from Motordyne.

Hmm.. that's very odd. I even get wheelspin at the top of 1st gear, and depending on the road conditon, 2nd.
So I'll launch at about 2500rpm by feathering the clutch to avoid wheelspin, get on it and have full grip, and then at 6000rpm or so, I'll lose traction.
These cars definitely have enough power to overwhelm the tires. To me that's the more accurate measure of a powerful car. Anything can spin from a stop, but it takes some serious cajones to spin your tires when you're already moving.

Seriously, who cares, if you want to do a burn out, feather the breaks, press on the accelerator and watch the smoke..

neons are not faster, and i know that for sure, and even if you put some money into it, yes it will be pretty quick, but try to make it of the line with that power and FWD,
