[quoteprincealyy]Come on now, you have to be kidding me, people like him should just not be allowed to own a G...

Dont get me wrong, would love to smoke out my tires, but it just makes me laugh when people post like this.

I HAVE NEVER SMOKED MY TIRES... not because my car cant, but i understand why i bought my car. if i wanted to drive it like an idiot i would have gotten an civic si, and hooked it up.

Also All Season tires do not allow you car to smoke as well as summer tires...

Good luck, I hope you dont do something stupid.

I dont mean to be an AHOLE, but dont post stuff that sounds THIS DUMB!!

(smoking out is not a way to compare power, i rented a v6 mustang, and it smoked for days, but thats ALL it could do... )

Sorry for the mini rant...[/quote]

I can get a 2nd gear chirp out of mine, must be fast.

One thing though, if the car learned to be slow it just might be, you might try reseting the ECU.

Does that mean the civic is fast?

Spining the tires is not a good measurement of power. Quarter mile trap speed is.

+1 agreed

what an odd thread...

not sure what kind of auto you have but my all of my friends with auto G35 sedans can break traction by tapping the pedal (in my 6MT, I can break traction all to easily).. we all cut it out b/c the tires are too damn expensive, and so is the GAS..

Maybe you have too much back pressure... I had this issue when the catalytic converter went out on one of my other cars...

Sounds like a lot of you guys that can lay waste to tires with the 5ATs are on all season rubber. If you had a set of quality summer rubber on there and you were in temps above 60, it would pretty much hook up and go on most surfaces.

Street surface is also a major factor here. Asphalt is slick. Concrete will grip hard. Years ago when I use to street race, we'd line up on an old concrete county bridge. It hooked up like the drag strip covered in VHT.

Dang, I thought the cars were always learning and adjusting to your drive style. How do you reset ECU?

They do, but he just bought the car so it is not his driving style most likely. If you still want to try it do a search here or on google and you should find it, it's sort of like playing tetris or something.

Not one proper response for VDC or Vehicle Dynamic Control.

VDC is for rollover response. It is not a traction control device to keep your rear tires from spinning at take off but rather for steering control..

Please Read. It was originally intended for SUV's Nissan just put it on all of their cars labeled as VDC. Does it prevent rollovers of course not it just assists in counter reacting body roll to a certain extent.

I spent 2 years selling Nissan cars so I had to learn a thing or two about VDC.

WIKI of TCS:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traction_control_system

WIKI of ESC
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro...bility_control

Personally I have been test driving both sedans and coupes all of the Auto variety since I DON'T want to shift anymore. And I have had no Issues with tire spin not being achieved.

In order to reset your ECU Unplug the battery from the terminals overnight.
Warning: If you have any electronic programs incorporated they CAN be lost..

PS my background is more with these but after having an Altima I figured why not go to a G35 for the same cash expense and get more features hence my new market search.

how can some of you judge burn out's with so little varible info?
Tires, size, compound, surface, temp, mods, etc. How can anyone expect the same result? We are all over the US/world on this site, everyone has different conditions, setup's, cars, and abilities.... just enjoy your car.

I'd have to agree here. Like I've said before, my 5AT will barely chirp a tire at the strip and it still pulls mid to low 2.1 60 foots and running 14.3-14.4@98-99mph which is better than most people are getting with their lightly modded Gs. Spinning the tires is by no means a way of measuring power. I4 120hp pickup trucks can lay waste to tires and they're 17 to 18 second rides.
