Possible first mod

I have store credit at a shop nearby from when I had my Accord. I had bought a Megan Racing suspension and a strut bar, but the strut bar was on hold. So now I have 60-100 bucks on credit, can't quite remember how much. I'm thinking of maybe doing some type of mod on my '06 sedan. I'll pitch in a tad bit of money if needed for the part I need to get if I decide to get something. Just looking for ideas of what are the least expensive mods available, whether its for looks, performance, etc.

+1 on the Z-tube and clear corners. I spent $30 for a set of new clear corners, and $50 for a used Z-tube.

Plenum spacer is the best bang for the buck mod.

I like the clear corners idea, not sure about the z-tube though. I had CAI on my Accord before and I liked the sound of it, but unfortunately my gf didn't. How much does the z-tube and pop charger affect the sound of the vehicle?

As for the plenum spacer, I noticed there are different sizes. Seems like the Motordyne 5/16" is what mostly everyone goes with. Should I stick with this if I go this route?

I actually had an '08 G35 as a loaner car while mine was getting a new radiator at the dealership and I can significantly tell the difference in power. That additional 26 HP made a HUGE difference. I'm considering something that will gain me some power and get my G to be a little faster and not too expensive. What mod should I consider in that situation?

As for the plenum spacer, originally that is what I was thinking

Z-Tube will give a deeper growl on heavier acceleration. JWT Pop Charger will give you a nice lil' whistling noise on heavier acceleration. Quite frankly, I love the Z-Tube + JWT Pop Charger combo.

Hmm, been looking more into posts and it seems the way to to is the Motorodyne 5/16" with the MREV2. It's a tad more than what I'd like to spend from what it seems, but I'm willing to drop the money on it if need be.

I noticed on MD's website they talking about the differences between an engine with and without REV-UP. I'll look into that shortly but a short answer version, what and how do you get the REV-UP?

Thanks for all the input as well.

I'd really like to hear how it sounds. Hopefully there are some members here in the So Cal area who wouldn't mind me listening to the sound of their G.

i don't have any mod's yet, but +1 on this one, i've been doing my research and the z-tube and pop charger are intake mods, they can't give you more than 10 hp COMBINED!!! the spacer is said to give about 11 HP on average (8-13) and it's easier to install.... only like 200.00... i saw one for 191 on jazzparts or something like that...

Last edited by UR2EZ; Jun 13, 2008 at 12:27 AM. Reason: i looked at the installation procedures for z-tube and pop charger, and realized spacer is easier

11 sounds a little hopeful for something that has a range as large as 8-13... but i'd be interested to know any results anyone sees personally...

10 or 11, either way it's the single biggest boost in Hp you can get with a simple mod (by simple i mean not turbochargers and stuff like that) and the feedback is really positive, people seem to love their spacers

i have a z-tube and pop charger installed. Sounds nice and not too loud. Just buy a used z-tube to save $$$! just make sure there are no holes on the tube

I started off with the JWT + Z-Tube. It sounded ok but then I needed more. I then upgraded to the HKS rear section muffler, and that sounded great (all for sound). Now I'm deployed and I was bored and ordered the MD 5/16 spacer, my wife received it home. I can't wait to go on R&R and have it installed to see what all the hype was about. I've heard all good stuff about now I get to see if it was all fluff or if it really puts out. Damn september is a long ways away
