Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?
I've owned 2 cars:
1. 2004 G35 auto sedan--I love this car except for the paint chips and the dipstick--it tought me what fun to drive meant.
2. 1990 Nissan maxima--solid car that was very reliable for me, but rather cosmetically unappealing by the end.

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?
I have owned eleven cars. The list is in order of purchase. Still have the 89 Mazda. Although the G is the best all around car of the bunch - the 1993 Typhoon (0-60 5.1) is probably my favorite, with the Q45 right behind it.
1- 1982 Pontiac Grand Prix
2- 1983 Audi 5000 Turbo
3- 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1
4- 1969 Pontiac GTO
5- 1984 Chevy Ciation
6- 1987 Saab 9000 Turbo
7- 1989 Maxda 626
8- 1990 Infiniti Q45
9- 1993 GMC Typhoon
10-1990 Plymouth Voyager
11-2003 Infiniti G35

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?
I am going to approach this a little differently. The G is the fastest, handles the best and is the best looking of any of my cars. It has the best factory stereo of any of them. It has also had more problems than any of my other cars and is the least comfortable due to that miserable seat control killing my hip and thigh. My '94 Taurus rattles louder but in less places than the G. Every time I get one rattle fixed another one pops up - this time it's in the headliner on left side of the vanity lights. Oh, and my right side front brake is squeeking now. It's getting old people.

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?
1. 2004 G35 AT Sedan - Only 6600 miles so far. I guess, in theory, it could turn out to be unreliable. Of course, over 2X more than I spent on my 2nd most expensive vehicle, the used F150.
2. 1995 Ford Taurus - Not the most reliable car during the 50-65K range, but handles better than a truck
3. 1997 Ford F150 extended cab - only reason behind Taurus is because a car handles better.
4. 1988 Nova - First relatively new car I owned.
5. 1975 Nova - Major rust problems. 2 door.
6. 1967 Impala - Old 3 speed manual. Learned to drive on this and the Nova.
2004 Sedan/DVD Navigation/Desert Platinum/Willow

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?
In chronological order:
1. 1964 Nash Rambler (parents hand-me-down)
2. 1971 Chevelle 454 (my high school car- lots of fun while driving and while parked)
3. 1968 Buick Skylark (threw a rod)
4. 1972 Mazda Station Wagon w/backfiring rotary engine
5. 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (junk)
6. 1984 Toyota Station Wagon (wrecked it- not my fault)
7. 1988 Subaru Station Wagon (wrecked it- my fault)
8. 1984 Toyota Van
9. 1997 Toyota RAV4 (first new car)
10. 2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6MT
I think it is obvious that there is really no comparison to be made. Even car #2 does not hold a candle to the G, in spite of its great nostalgic value.

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?
Probably because they all broke down and went straight to the junk yard...haha.
Seriously though... Actually, you are right, you never seen one. It was actually a Chrysler K car I owned and it earns the my vote as the worst car ever. Blew the clutch, starter, carburetor, and finally seized the engine for good....I got it confused with a Renault Alliance which is very much the same (been 15 years already). Also identical from that era was the Plymouth Reliant, much like the Mercury Capris to the hatchbatch Mustangs. Thinking back to that ghastly K car makes me love my new G even more!

1. 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan
2. 2004 Lexus RX330 FWD wagon
