So far, it looks like I am the only person who previously owned an Infiniti before purchasing a G. I find that hard to believe. Do I get a prize? LOL

infinitig20... yay for the preludes! my '94 si was my first car and i loved it. sooo reliable to me. only problem i ever had was a highschooler hitting me with his mom's minivan. but at about 110,000 miles i decided to retire it, trade it in, and get the G.

ABQ_tom... you sure liked those F-150s.

g35girlio, yes, I did like the F-150's, (the 78 was just a beater though) liked having a pickup, wouldn't mind getting another in addition to my G to tell you the truth!

Yeah G35girl! It's kinda sad that Honda doesn't make the Prelude anymore cause that car has it all: looks, good handling, quick, etc...
Maybe in the future, Honda will come out with a V6 Prelude.

I think a lot of old VW's had that problem, LOL, I had a friend who had an older VW Bug, had no gas guage, just a reserve tank so when it ran out, you'd switch to it until you could get gas!

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?

I started with a '71 Chevy Caprice Classic. 22' long, 2 door witha S/B 350 engine. Paid $500.00, spent $2,000.00 to keep it running, and sold it for $500.00, all while I was still in High School. It would chirp tires in all 4 gears and it was fast but it was beat when I bought it and I even beat it harder. I loved the car (you always love your first car). I had a '78 and '82 Toyota Celica's for a while after that. Then I bought a Buick Grand National. Very fast with a turbo SFI 3.8. Then i got married and had to start at the bottom with brands and models I won't even mention. I did get a '93 Pontiac Grand Prix that I traded for my G when I bought in Nov of 2002. Out of all these, the G is tops. Then the GN for sheer speed. Then the Chevy. The fun times of cars is back again with my G!!!

...Help - Someone's fallen and I'm not getting out of my G!!!

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?

Well, as i am only 14 years old, I only remember one other vehicle my parents owned. The vehicle was a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. I think you can draw a correct conclusion of what I think of the G35.

Here is a list of my vehicles I have owned....newest to oldest.
1- 2003.5 G35 Sedan
2- 2001 Audi S4...second biggest lemon I owned, and worst for repair. Dealership was difficult to deal with.
3- 2000 Infiniti I 30 t
4- 2000 Nissan Pathfinder LE
5- 1998 Honda Accord V6 Coupe
6- 1992 Nissan Pathfinder LE
7- 1991 Buick Regal
8- 1992 Honda Accord
9- 1989 Nissan 240 SX
10- 1986 Toyota Celica
11 - 1982 Toyota Celica
12- 1986 Pontiac Sunbird GT Turbo..Biggest Lemon I owned
13- 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ
14 1973 Chev Monte Carlo, 2 Door

There's a list.....I think I might be getting rid of the pathfinder and getting a Subaru next...Pathfinder is a great vehicle, but time to trade it in.

Re: How would the G35 rate with your old cars?

1980 Mustang 2-dr (Orange "Orange Tang") - Parents gave it to me - cheapest new car on Ford lot. 5-speed 2.3 liter. 90hp. Snow tires for Boston and Michigan winters. A real sweet period in Mustang manufacturing. LOL : )

1986 Maxda 626 LX 5-door. 5 speed, 2 liter. Paid off in 2 years with my first employee bonus. Totaled in multicar accident on the FDR Drive, NYC July 4, 1989 (opposite Yankee Sadium). A great little driver. A real loss.

1989 Acura Legend Coupe. 2.7 liter, 160 hp. 5-speed. The babe magnet. The cruise missile. Divorce in 1990 and the new love in 1991. We're still together - the girl and I - not the car! Sold at 10 yrs. 199k. I'll bet it's still running!

1996 Honda Civic LX. 4-dr. Auto. A little car for my wife to drive. (She doesn't do stick.) So we get the Civic and hold onto it for 5 years selling in 2001 with fewer than 15k.

2000 Subaru Outback Limited. The practical Northwest family car to replace the Legend. Except there's no family - just me and the wife and our two dogs. In 2001 there's a baby. It's my wife's driver now.

1997 Volvo 850 GLT wagon. Auto. Purchased used in 2002. The car to replace the Civic. Except it becomes my ride and the wife takes the Outback. DIY Alpine stereo with 100 watt amp for woofer in a box. At least it introduced me to XM radio.

2004 G35x. Bought after my 76 yr old mother bought a Red G35 last fall. (I laugh when I read posts by kids in their teens and early twenties talking about their G's. Mom took care of us for all those years before she finally took care of herself with her new G.) Replaced the OEM tires with Michelin Pilot Sport AS's at 2,400 miles. Looking into springs and who knows where this will go. If's been a long time since I've enjoyed a ride like this - bringing back the grins!
