Compression rod sound is back..
so anyon know the exact part number for the bushing that we need to replace to fix the sound, or do we need to replace the whole rod?
i notice on page 2, there were parts number posted for a bushing, however, it was later said those are control arm bushings.
are they the same bushing, or there is bushing for the rod in particular?

if its compression rod bushings you need, i have a set i will sell u for 32 bucks shipped(in the us)...... an easy 8 bucks cheaper than u would pay from riverside and way cheaper than your local dealer......... and these are the bushings for #9 on the illustration, the inner portion that bolts basicly to the sub frame....the curved arm....
get some silicone lube and spray all the bushings, any rubber components in the suspension and the creak will go away, that is what i did, its been over a month not a squeak

I have been putting off doing something about my noisy compression rods for the past year. Anyone here have the revised ones installed? What kind of price for just the bushings? I'm sure the dealer labor would be the same as installing new rods, so the only savings will be in parts. I now have 78k miles on my sedan and they have been noisy since 60k.

2. The guys at Riverside Infiniti know their stuff so I would imagine that they are correct.
Simply lubricating the bushings will NOT solve the problem most of us experienced with the compression rods. In most cases, the bushings actually crack. Infiniti wouldn't have issued a TSB if it were that simple!
Also, keep in mind that if you just buy the bushings, you're going to need a hydraulic press and some special dealer tools to press them into the rods. Unless you are under warranty, my guess is the dealer's labor charge for this will be more than just buying the whole new rod & bushing assembly. See the attached pic from the TSB.

obviously it won't solve the problem in the long run but it does the job for now, plus i use a rubber safe silicone lube, what is the point of replacing the bushing when i hear people with 7500kms get the creak

so the best way to fix this problem is to pretty much just buy a whole new rod & bushign assembly, and have the dealer install it?
im at 137,000 miles and just want to know what i can do to keep it going til 200k
