It is snake oil...

Think about it. If something like that really worked and cost, say, $50, don't you think Infiniti would put one on every car and tout the increased fuel economy of their products?

I disagree... I think this (for the most part) is a very interesting discussion on fuel savings and alternative fuels... The OP wanted to know about saving fuel.. well, here you go; a good discussion ensues...

and the reason that the same engine block can be made to get different MPG come from everything else that is used/designed around that block... to get better fuel efficiency, you give up something in the way of performance or actual energy output from the engine.

what i don't get is why we aren't trying to use the waste energy from the engine (heat). if an engine is only 15% efficient, that means that 85% of the energy in the fuel is released as heat.

why not capture that heat and use it? (internal combustion/steam hybrid anyone?) maybe just to run the accessories? even if we could capture just another 15% of the energy we'd have just doubled the engine's efficiency...

If things were that simple, every automotive engineer in the world would jump on it. This thread is a joke. The OP is an idiot for thinking a magnet would cure his fuel efficiency/performance problems. JOKER is the biggest joke on these forums. He should be banned based on the single fact that every post he makes drastically reduces the quality of these forums. Where exactly is your proof that using these magnets increases fuel efficiency, if even by a little as you say. I'm sure its all kind of fun pulling imaginary facts out of your ***, but please for the sake of everyone who genuinely cares to learn and better themselves, remove yourself from these forums. I won't even mention the multitude of other threads/posts you've made on these forums.

You have a total post count of .... 24. You joined this forum... 3 months ago... comments like "The OP is an idiot", do NOT help your credibility or your perception from other's on a forum. If you do not agree, quit reading and move on... You must be a very bored person to waste that much time on something you don't care to understand.

Oh I'm sorry that your post count of 57 far excedes mine. I've been reading the forums for a while and only recently joined. I don't need crediblity to understand when a post is a waste of server space. Especially when the topic of discussion is so damn ridiculous and not backed by fact.

Be specific and technical.

neither you nor I joined anything... the paying members of this forum 'joined'... you and I merely registered...

Congratulations, you may now call me an idiot, because I am unsubscribing from this thread, page 4 has taken a quick turn from a good conversation to just senseless...

I cannot do that because i dont have data in front of me, but look at the engine in your own car.... the 3.5 is used in G's, M's, FX's, altima's, maxima', quest's, etc.... unless I'm wrong they will all have different HP ratings and get a little different MPG from the same block....

That's what I thought. When pressed to actually explain what you say in technical terms, you can't.

Yes all those cars have a VERSION of the VQ35. then again, they all WEIGH different, have diff aerodynamics, tuned diff (within reasonable terms vs ridiculous claims like this) and have diff GEARING and final drives. Nothing like mentioning these little MPG altering tidbits to explain MINOR differences in MPG vs some Gov't consipacy against mankind

If you're really going to sit there and argue that I didn't join a forum I really don't know what to tell you. I understand the difference between a standard and premier member, but they both constitute as joining of these forums.

I'll even back my argument with fact (something this entire thread lacks) as per Dictionary.com

Join = to become a member of (an organization, party, etc.): to join a club.
= To engage in; enter into:
= To become a part or member of:

Thats funny I seem to have done all of these things.

I'll come back latter today tho this thread with a little experiment you can do with a magnets to see if they do anything at all.

Get your self a needle (simple plain old needle. Not the one with a plastic ball on the back but simple straight metal needle)
Tall paper cut

And a magnet.

I'll be back.

I would actually be interested in possibly doing this to an old beater car to see how well it works...

Would you be willing to risk your own hand then to place it in the flame if its cool to the touch? I can't believe people actually think that it actually instantaneously changes temperature when in contact with a metal

Joker, do you even know the difference between an electric field and a magnetic field, and why one would ionize a solution and one wouldn't? I'm going to guess you've never passed a high school chemistry/physics class.
