I tried every FM transmitter you can think of and they all suck...even the 100 dollar ones are garbage. I wish I wasn't afraid to tear my car apart to install that cable. I guess I am not afraid to tear it apart as much as I am of putting it back together. Any one live in the STL area would be of great help. The holder that had the suction cup has a hard time staying on the dash especially with the car heating up and cooling off on the inside. If your worried about scratching your phone buy an agent 18 case for it...I have dropped mine 3 times, once on the glass and no scratches.

 

My iPhone is the $hit.

I don't know how I ever functioned without it. It offers so much especially if you jail break it and start modding. I am thinking about upgrading to the 3G.

because they don't have one for the iphone 3g or one for the 03/04 sedan.

I got a reply this morning saying:

"Peter,

We haven’t had the opportunity to test the 3g iPhone but we will have one on Friday to try out. We have just finished the 03-04 G35 auto spec.dock and it should be posted to the site early next week. It looks great!"

I'm pretty sure this is what I'm going to get, granted they release one for the iPhone 3g at the same time or soon thereafter.

 

^^^ That looks a little gaRy right in front of the main radio and stuff. I would think the iphone will cause disturbance being that close to the thing. THat would be good for a nano or something. I think imma just do one of those suction cup thingies and see how that works.

No it doesn't really mess up the radio. At least not enough to make it annoying. IMO

yeah, that was the route I was going to take if this guy had nothin for me, but I'll drop 50 bucks for a universal dock some custom cut plastic and instructions. The unit is ~2 bills, but that includes instructions to install EVERYTHING, along with a unit (not sure if its PA11-NIS or the other one), and the dock and everything to go with it. Says it can be controlled by the steering wheel and the radio via playlists, but can also be controlled by the ipod/iphone while docked, which is a must if you were to get a call or something.

Red, is that a universal dock?
Do you notice ANY kind of disturbance to the stereo with your iPhone there?

 

I used the PAC cuz I think it gave me more functions. Yes you can still use your steering wheel controls, and you can also control it directly through the iphone (if the PAC is set to direct mode) plus you get an AUX-in too for anything else like a DVD player.
If you get a call, it doesn't really have any disturbance, just answer with your bluetooth headset: the iphone stays docked, the music on your car dims down and when u finish talking back to your playlist. I also get a bit when it does a send and receive for new emails. But like I said before not enough to really bother me, is so little.

That is another thing with the spec.dock, they say it charges it. Donno what they do, but it appears to work!

I dont think it charges it, but if it does it is a slow small charge. The PAC gives it enough power to function without consuming your iPhone battery (so basically when you dock it and undock it is pretty much on the same amount of charge, I do keep a separate charger for the days I get to my car and I barely have battery, but that barely happends) about the cassete being blocked, yes but who uses that anyways when you have an iphone/ipod. Sound quality is horrible on tapes. The buttons, you dont really need them as you can switch tracks/albums from your steering wheels controls or the iPhone itself which is basically what those buttons do.
