New G35 Owner, With Pictures.
I've been lurking around here for some time, now. So I thought it was time to make my first post. I've just picked up an 04' Sedan, I didnt have alot of money so I picked up this salvage car with 15,589 miles on it. This car has no frame damage what-so-ever, even the fenders are still good. This car was bought for $6500 with tax. The interior is perfect, and the back seat has never even been sat in.
The parts I have picked up are:
A perfect blue hood for $125.
Bumper cover for $40.
07' 350z springs $70.
07' m35 wheels $1100.
The parts I still need are:
Headlight shells and lenses, radiator, radiator suport, and an A/C condenser.
If any one has the headlights please let me know.
Anyways, so here are the pictures -

Thanks, Jay

I like what you are doing--my advice is to not spend too much money on this car once you complete the rebuild. You can still fix it into a nice car utilizing used parts as you are doing. I would just caution you on spending extra money on say an aerokit front bumper, side sills and rear underspoiler--it would make more financial sense in your case to paint the lower sills---on the front bumper, side sills and rear bumper during your rebuild process(rather than coming back and doing it later, this is a cheap but nice modification). Make sure your G has functional airbags, and that all repairs are done properly--no makeshift work.
Beyond this, I would just tint it and do low cost mods like midpipe(from an 05 sedan $80-90 shipped used or coupe midpipe) z-tube, etc and go ahead and do all the fluids just in case(even though miles are low) do the auto trans fluid, engine oil, obviously the coolant will be done and you can do the rear differential too--and keep all your receipts.
Again the key on this car is to not over spend on reconditioning and to document the b4 damage with pics--so keep them, and document who fixed the car, and all the service that you did, and by not spending too much more (don't go fi or anything crazy like that on this car) on this car it will minimize risk from reselling to suspicious buyers. Oh and keep it a at least 3-4 or more years.
Make sure you inspect the front suspenion for damage and get an alignment to make sure you track correctly, have a steering wheel that is on-center, and that your tires wear properly.
Ok rant over, and congrats.
keep thread posted with your progress (pics)

Thanks for all your guys' comments and ideas, if you guys had seen this car you would have bought it too. I drove this car off the truck and into my garage. We didn't even have to jump start it. The doors shut perfectly. The fenders line up to the doors perfect.
While restoring this car I've been documenting all of it's progress with pictures.
reconJDM - This is an automatic.
Thanks Texan for your comment, that's basically I'm going to be doing the same thing you had mentioned.
I figured I'll have $8,500 when done, without the cost of my wheels.
I have couple questions I would like to ask you guys -
#1 - I know my headlights are Xenon, would I be able to reuse the regular headlights without cutting wirings or messing up my electronics, just until I can afford regular Xenon?
#2 - This is an Early '04 with the clutch fan and an electric condenser fan. Do you guys think I could just get a later '04 dual factory electric fan setup and be able to plug it in to the stock plug? I have read about the Dave electric fan modification, and know I can do that, and was wondering if instead I could use an late '04-'05 radiator with a stock dual electric fan setup and just plug into my stock electric condenser fan wiring.
Enclosing if anybody in Northern California has a scratched, but not dented hood, and needs a Caribbean blue hood, I'd be willing to trade, as I'm going to to be painting this hood anyways.
