5' 10" and 220 (unfortunately, I keep falling off the Atkins wagon) LOL

6K miles on my G and no complaints about seat comfort. I've never driven more than 3 1/2 hours at a clip however.

PS. I've had several lower back surgeries over the years and still have no problems with my G.

I actually forgot this was a problem for some people. I remember before I bought my sedan I was worried, but the seats are comfortable for me, at most, the only problem is it could use more bolstering, but as far as comfort is concerned, no problems at all.

Just drive for an hour you will know if it works for you or not - a 15 minute test drive will not show it.

Re: Seats, Sedan - How many LIKE theirs?

I also read all the reports, but decided to get the car any way.

I've had the car 12 days now and spent the first few on a road trip to San Diego. Finally It got annoying friday morning. I fretted about it all day at work. On the drive home it wasn't so bad. So friday evening I unbolted the seat, removed the seat control, bent the brackets out just a little ( more in back than in front ) and put everything back together. Now it feels like "support" and no annoyance. I also learned that it's unnecessary to unbolt the seat. Just use both of the seat height switches and raise the seat all the way. It's amazing how high the thing can go !!! With the seat up all the way and the parking brake released you have plenty of access to fiddle with things. Peel the tape away from the screw holes, use a phillips to remove them ( 2 ) and a vise grip to bend away. It's not rocket science !

Good luck and enjoy your G's

Re: Seats, Sedan - How many LIKE theirs?

Using the numbers from the seat poll on this forum, out of 107 total responses to date only 40% found the seats "Very Comfortable", while 30% of respondents found the seats to be "Uncomfortable" or much worse! These are pretty LOUSY numbers for a supposed "Luxury" Sports Sedan or Coupe! I consider VERY comfortable seats a MUST for "luxury". Below is an exact breakdown of the numbers from the poll.

Very Comfortable....................................43 = 40%

Okay.............................................. ........32 = 30%

Not Comfortable but bearable...................19 = 18%

Infiniti buy the car back I can't take it.......13 = 12%

Those of you who find the seats comfortable are blessed and I am happy for you. The driver's seat is the worst car seat I have ever had the displeasure of sitting in. People need to be aware that this problem exists, and in many cases takes hours, days or sometimes even weeks to reveal itself. If possible, test drive for several hours or see if the dealership will let you take a used car home for several days. Chances are you will be fine, but if you are one who is negatively affected by the seat controls you are much better to find that out BEFORE you drop 30,000+ dollars on the G35. Good luck.

To further reinforce the need for a test, I am 6'5" 245# and have no probs to date (1900 miles)
The seat 'issue' seems to be a very personal one and not limited to any one body type.
I also have lower back problems and would not put up w/ an uncomfortable seat for one instant! This is actually the first car I have ever owned where the lumbar support was in the correct place for me.

Re: Seats, Sedan - How many LIKE theirs?

Perhaps the seat poll should be separated between coupe owners and sedan owners. Two different seats, after all. Take another variable out, and see how the numbers turn out.

Mustang seats are the worst, try one of those and then you'll love the G35's.

geespot... i'm sorry that you are not enjoying the driving experience in the G as the majority of us do, but don't you think the quote above is a little off? last i checked, a luxury car isn't in the $30,000 range. if you wanted comfort and true luxury, then perhaps the Q is what you should have been looking at. remember, you get what you pay for.

Re: Seats, Sedan - How many LIKE theirs?

I don't see why all the fuss... I'm 5'11" 190 lbs and I find all of the seats to very comfortable in the sedan. I like the seat controls exactly where they are too. I wouldn't be surprised if other manufacturers copy the idea cuz it's ergonomically friendly. What would make the seats perfect however, would be if you could adjust the seat about 1" lower.

Re: Seats, Sedan - How many LIKE theirs?

so true. but like i said, you get what you pay for, i.e., entry level luxury. with what already comes with the G for the bargain price, you knew infiniti had to scrimp somewhere. unfortunately for some, this scrimping was in the seats. for others, it was in the interior materials. for more, it was the exterior paint. for a handful, it was the bose system. for a few, it's the quality of the HIDs. and etc. i hope you got my point.

and let's please try to stay on topic. the original poster wanted to see who likes their seats. the thread about "uncomfortable driver's seat" is long enough. let's not turn it into that or we will definitely ruin the search function for people.

Re: Seats, Sedan - How many LIKE theirs?

Just for the record G35Girl, we had a number of people come into the "Uncomfortable Driver's Seat" thread arguing that the seats were fine etc. etc......One or two of them of them were pretty much tools about it, but I appreciate the advice about staying on topic. I deleted one post from this thread but could not delete the older post because the time has expired on editing privileges.
