Monster on the horizon

The interior of the TL is nicer than the G. I don't have any problems admitting that. But honestly, the TL is nowhere near knocking the G off of it's pedistal. However, the new Chrysler 300 C sometimes makes one wish he should have waited a year or two. It is by far the best looking American car out there. And what hurts me so bad is that it has a 340HP Hemi and it's priced right around my G! Someone please talk me out of trading my beloved G in!

Re: Monster on the horizon

you want a reason to not trade your G in and get the Chrysler? How bout the fact that its a Chrysler? Good enough reason for me even though I really do like the look of the new 300. But again its just the look that I like, I just dont trust the company building it. America makes great trucks, but we have always been lacking in the car department.

Re: Monster on the horizon

they put e class suspension on it - that will help you forget its sucky and the interior screams quality according to the reviews I've seen. Dont know much about hemis but they sound pretty compelling as does the car. I would go drive it but theres a chance i owuld want it and then my GF would shoot me since she get the nice car next time and i get a prius. and she wont want a hemi im sure

Re: Monster on the horizon

Are we forgetting that the G handles like a dream, but the Chrysler, while claiming to have exceptional steering capability, comes from detroit. Detroit is not known for handling.

Also: No 6MT.

Re: Monster on the horizon

I'd have to agree with everyone... damn that's gonna be a fine car. It's about time they put a sled together like that.

However, i swore off Chryslers cuz of their sucky engines and lack of quality control. i would expect there to be a difference on this ride, but they will have to prove it first.

looking forward to someone i know buying this so I can take it for a test drive.

Cheers, Ted

Re: Monster on the horizon

Give the 300 a year, and it will be worth half its cost. Guranteed. Then you can have both.

Re: Monster on the horizon

wait for the magnum or the sport suspension version of the 300C and then drive it. E class suspension is not that bad - it will handle as well as the current E class I bet. THis isn't a sports car so that should make the handling great. All the rules can be rewritten. The pacifica and the 300 are IMO going to be very good for resale. IF they have hemi 300's half off next year from 04 I'll prob pick up a couple..!

Re: Monster on the horizon

I appreciate what Chrysler is trying to do, but the G beats it hands down on styling, as well as (I am anticipating) reliability and handling. The demographic for that car shouldn't be the same as ours either (older drivers).

BrianV: Do you think the G has a great resale value? I think not!! Infiniti when compared to Lexus, BMW and MB, does not do as well.

Re: Monster on the horizon

G35 coupe is highest rated resale value of all coupes on the market (article was posted on this site a couple weeks ago). Granted it isn't our sedan, but the sedan can't be that far behind.

<a href="http://money.cnn.com/2004/02/26/pf/autos/alg_stars/">G35 gets 5-star rating for resale</a>

G35 coupe has better resale than the sedan, but I believe the 5-star rating applies to both.

Re: Monster on the horizon

So, what do I see so many brand new G for less than $29K? Try and sell yours privately and see what happens. I think those ratings are BS!! Trust me, I hope the G holds it's value when I am ready to trade in/up. From my experience with Infiniti (I had a 90 Q45), the resale is suspect.

Re: Monster on the horizon

If you like the 300, check out the 2005 Mustang GT. that is a nice car and the 4.6 responds very well to simple mods.
