Thumbs up Trunk lid supports for spoiler

Hello forum,

I have a 05 sedan with the rear spoiler. The guy I bought it from put a trunk with the spoiler on the car. Every time I pop the trunk it just unlocks it does not fly up like other G sedans I have seen. So I'm wondering if there are some trunk lid shocks or something in production that I can purchase. You comments and direction to resolution are much appreciated.

My 05 is an X that didn't come with a spoiler so I added an aftermarket one. However, the trunk lid never popped up either without the spoiler or with. In fact I've never seen a G trunk pop up, including any of the loaners I've had.

My '05 didn't have a spoiler and never popped open when I released the lock. The lid raised maybe about 1/2" max when I did open it.

+1, 05 sedan, no spoiler and trunk only pops open a little, but does not "fly" open.

+25, the struts don't open the trunk, it just pops up. If you have seen other G sedans do that they put some stronger aftermarket struts on there.

Thanks this pretty much answers the question. I drive by a line of G's on my way to work and often see them in the parking lot opening the trunk and the lids they pop up about 5-6 inches, it must be some aftermarket supports they are using. Never had time to stop and ask those guys.
But thanks for all the replies.
