Disappointing 1/4 mile run - me = bad driving
Disappointing 1/4 mile run - me = bad driving
I just went back up to the 150-shot and went to the track tonight. Only got one run. My 60ft was 2.3 and did the quarter in 13.6 and 108 mph. I had run better with the 125-shot, guess it wasn't my night. I didn't spray in 1st, but all of 2nd - 4th. It seemed like a solid run, hardly any wheel spin or clutch loss at all.

Re: Disappointing 1/4 mile run - me = bad driving
Your mph indicates you have enough power for a 12 sec slip, provided you have traction. I suspect your spinning the tires or your clutch can't handle the extra power. Try spraying in fourth gear at say 3000 rpms and watch your tach. If your rpms increase, but the speedometer doesn't move your clutch is slipping!

YOU ONLY HAD 1 RUN. MAYBE YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG OR TIRES WERE SLIPPING IF YOU HAD MORE THAN 1 RUN YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE BETTER!

Re: Disappointing 1/4 mile run - me = bad driving
Thanks for the comments. I did run 12.96 with my 125/135-shot earlier this year. I thought I would get back in the 12's with the 150. All test runs I had done on the street didn't appear to give me any wheel spin or clutch slip and it didn't appear to happen at the track either, but I guess its sometimes difficult to tell when you are heading down the track with adrenaline pumping. :-)
THanks again. I'll give it anothe go next week.
Regards,
Steven

If you don't record the altitude, temperature, barometric pressure, and dew point your comparisons are very loose. Are the times you're listing "corrected" or raw data?

Try getting one step colder plugs, they might help a bit, you will lose hp N/A, but when you use the nitro, you will see the gain there. Just a thought

The data is raw data since I was at the track and not on a dyno. The temperature was 71 degrees as sea level, not sure about the humidity or barometric pressure. I do have 1-step colder plugs, denso's.
