Hey everyone..I'm new here and I hope this isn't a silly question.

I am currently shopping for a G35 sedan (specifically, an 03-04), and I have found that it is hard to tell if the headlights are HID through photos. Unless the car ad specifically states that the headlights are HID, I really do not know what to look for by just the picture. Are there any dead giveaways?

Also, what packages were offered in 03-04 and what type of things should I look for. I have already found a couple G's in my price range, but I want to make sure I'm aware of all the options available before I pull the trigger - which should be very soon!

On a side note, I have been lurking the forum as a guest for a couple weeks now and it has already been very informative!

Correct me if im wrong but i dont they come out with HID's. There are many H4 globes that can give the same look in photos. HID's will charge and ocassionally flicker when driving and are extreamly bright. I had a set of 6000k on my V35 and i never onced had to use high beam.

If you new to buying a G then i would look for one with an Aero bodykit.

HID usually listed in EXTERIOR FEATURES.

I did not find it in 03,04 not even in 05. Not sure if it's just not listed or they actually did not have it.

05 Coupe does have it listed in there tho.

 

Here is what I did.... I called my local Infiniti dealer and asked them if they could run the VIN to see if I had HID or Halogen blubs, Long story short I installed an HID kit the next week. Hope this helps...

 

if you have leather and heated seats theres HID lights!

 

03-04 i think with premium package A, it will include HIDs. 05+ HIDs were a standard option.

 

Having the dealer run the VIN is a sure way of finding out. 03/04 did come with HIDs if you had the premium package.....they are referred to as "Xenon" headlights

 

The specific G I have been eyeing does mention heated seats. I am planning on taking a look at it today, so hopefully it does have HID.

I will try to get the VIN checked with Infiniti as well before I head out. Thanks for the suggestions!

 

My 04 came with HID's with only the sport package. I don't have the premium package. Mine is also a 6MT and I belive all the 6MT's (04) came with them.

You can look on the headlight lens and see what bulb is called out. HID's will have a "D2R" and the non-HID will have "H1".

 

My 03 came with xenon lighting, leather, moon roof and Bose stereo but no reclining rear seats. Did the previous owner just pick those individual options? If they didn't care for the premium package I wonder why they got HID's in the first place.

 

Mine comes with the Premium package (i.e. dual-zone A/C, reclining rear seats, rear A/C vent, HomeLink mirror) and HID's. It seems like all the '03.5 and '04 sedans I've seen have HID's, and only the '03 base (w/ the doggy door trunk) has halogen headlamps.

 

I had a friend at work who had an 03.5 or 04 with no doggy door, cloth, halogen lights and no moon roof. The only one like it I have ever seen.

I went and checked out the G today. Interestingly enough, the car has HIDs, dual climate, reclinable rear seats, but no heated seats. Not a big deal for me in Cali, so...I picked her up!

I am extremely happy so far. I will post a proper introduction once I am able to get some decent pics.
