Re: Video of my Borla exhaust

Nice job! Thanks for doing that. That is my first time hearing the Borla. Sounds pretty good.

Re: Video of my Borla exhaust

hey blackonblackg, i noticed you have a FL tag and a scott infiniti license plate. i guess you bought your car there, so did I three weeks ago! anyways i am looking to get some performance work done to my g, like the injen intake, catback exhaust, etc. since i am assuming you live in the broward county area, can you recommend a shop to get some of that stuff installed or did you do it yourself, thanks!

Re: Video of my Borla exhaust

do you think it will sound different if the header and cats are also borla? and is it possible to have combination such as borla exhaust with stillen header? will that fit?

ps. nice sound, its kindda deeper and little bit louder...i guess im going for the borla as well, how many extra HP does it give ya?

Re: Video of my Borla exhaust

Very sweet! I just have a Magnaflow resonator and my sound is similiar to yours except it dies out after 2K rpms and then my Injen takes over. I believe the Injen is much more loud that your Stillen, but I love the low growl of your combo. Good work.

How much was the exhaust?

It's still a G thang!!

Re: Video of my Borla exhaust

I got a great deal on my exhaust; I paid $640 which included 2nd day shipping from CA to FL. jgordonwin, I am in palm beach county - I installed the intake myself and could help you with that, the exhaust I brought to your average muffler shop and I really have not found any real good shops down here yet. Stillen headers should work with the borla exhaust, I don’t see why they wouldn’t and that would give the exhaust more of a growl overall. They do not make high flow cats specifically for the G35 sedan but you can do some modifying as other sedan members on this forum have done to make them fit. From what I read cats give a solid 5-8hp through the whole rev range and give the exhaust a deeper/richer note. My sound with the windows closed in the 1000-2500rpm range can get a bit deep. With the windows open it does sound great though. The deepest part of the borla exhaust system is around 2500rpm. So when I’m driving normally with the windows closed once you past 2500rpm the deepness in the cabin goes away rapidly. Also on the highway if your revs are over 2500rpm you will barely hear the exhaust if at all. In the video I never gave it full throttle and when you do the sound properties change a little. for example when you go full throttle after about 3000-3500rpm the exhaust sound dies down and you really only hear the intake which does sound great. There is definitely a increase in HP and some TQ. When I went to the track I had a significant gain which you can read about in a post I wrote a little while back.

Re: Video of my Borla exhaust

Last time i checked borla did not make cats for the G35. check out the kenetix cats and the random technologies high flow cats.

Re: Video of my Borla exhaust

Great sounding car! I was wondering the total price for the 350Z tube, stillen intake, and Borla exhaust.
