I'm getting a annoying rattling noise coming from the front passenger door, has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it. I thought i'd ask before I started to take the door apart.

Being the car only has 200 miles on it, i'm a little disapointed it would start rattling so soon. And i'm affraid if I drop it off at Infiniti they will just keep it for several days and get it back with more rattles

Hey Dan, Yeh that's a common issue with a myriad of causes. Do a search for 'door rattles' on 'all forums'.
Speaker mounting bolts are a common cause but check out the archives for lots more info. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Both of my front doors have rattled since I bought the car (7 weeks, and 3800 miles). I have not had it fixed yet, but am thinking of working on it myself.

I ran across a TSB on the earlier models - I think before May of last year where they instructed the dealers to put blocks of heavy density foam in a variety of spots behind the door panels. I assume the newer ones like yours and mine have this from the factory. I intend to pull mine off and try something similar. My rattles are from the back of the door (on the driver side I can jamb my elbow against it and it stops).

Keep us posted on any fixes, and I'll do the same.

 

I had the same problem on my passenger door. At first I thought it was a blown speaker because I would hear it when the bass would hit on the stereo, but after driving with the stereo off I would hear the rattle while driving over rough road. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it. The tech. said that they tightened a bolt and added some insulation (didn’t get any more specific then that). That did the trick, haven’t heard the rattle since.

Just a few days ago, I notice some clicking or popping noises from the passenger door. I will probably take it in also.

I have a similar problem with my G35, I have driven 12500 miles on it and have had this problem ever since I had purchased. Took it to the dealer several times with no resolution to the problem. Have learned to live with it. I have back right door rattle, if any one finds a solutions, please let me know

Damn! This started last Wednesday. Six weeks old, 3200 miles and rattling. Oh well, nothing in life is perfect.....

My driver's door has a sound like something hitting the glass. It only happens when the left side wheels hit a bump. This noise started at 1,800 miles and has been getting worse. It is not a big deal but if it was not there then the car would be amazingly quiet and solid, especially with sport suspension.

The first dealer did not appear to be interested in fixing the problem. The second dealer attacked the problem immediately and actually had it fixed for about 50 miles. I don't think this is the dealer's fault because it appears to be a design or assembly flaw.

I called Nissan and asked them about this problem. I was told that their engineers are working on it. When I asked when a TSB will be issued, I was told "soon". As I stated before this is not a big deal but it is frustrating. One would think that it would be easy to solve.

If anyone from Nissan is monitoring this site: could it be the lift mechanism cable sheath tapping the glass?
