suggestions on my car. critique it
Hey guys i just bought this car a month ago. this car was bone stock when i got it and i have already done a whole lot. i took some pics, and i want you guys to help me out. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
1)How can i clean the plenum? would you suggest rubbing alcohol?
[IMG][/IMG]
2)Is this how a popcharger should look like? there is a tiny gap in between.
[IMG][/IMG]
3) What color should i paint my calipers? any suggestions. leaning towards red
4) My sideskirts look ugly. i just want to restore them, does black magic work?
[IMG] [/IMG]
5)Should i paint or powdercoat my grill black
[IMG] [/IMG]
6) Should i keep the lip spoiler i got from ebay. its a bit lighter shade. its a pain in the *** to take it out and repaint it
[IMG] [/IMG]
7) overall picture of my engine

i cant answer all but...
if you paint the caliper red it will definely stick out. it will grab your attention to the calipers due to the dark color of the wheels. it might not show as much because the spokes cover most of it, I have the duplicolor caliper paint in my garage for 5+ months. i was going to do it then backed out. it seems to be more phasing over to the rice area then anything. i might just do black.
for your sideskirt issue, back to black wont fix that, it looks like brake clean got on your side skirt, making they did a brake job and overspray of brake clean got on it. there isn't much to fix on it other then going with a new peice or paint it.

carb cleaner will help the plenum... or you can forget about cleaning it and have it polished or powder coated...
I wouldn’t paint OEM calipers any color other than black - something bright would make them stand out and there's really nothing to show off with OEM calipers...
As for the grille, as another post stated you cant powder coat because it goes into an over and the grille is plastic - your only option is paint. Or after market - I have a billet grille that was powder coater black chrome if you are interested... also have same color (hyper black chrome) wheels with painted center caps and black chrome emblems (they are a little tattered now, but could be brought back to life) - you might like them better than the color you have now (or not?)... I have different wheels and OEM painted grille now because the billet looks odd with the bumper I have… I'm in OC too if your interested let me know...
The best thing you can do is attend some of the local meets and get togethers to see what others have done - and/or look in the picture share threads for ideas that you like… If you are near Garden Grove I can show you some of the things I’ve done and it might give you some ideas to build from…

hey guys thanks for the response. Yea i think its better if i just do whatever makes me happy, and not ask other peoples opinion. hey i live in newport beach, and drive to fullerton a lot. it would be cool if i could meet up with you (OCG35). let me know when ur free, and i could see the billet grill when i meet you.

+1 on leave calipers alone or just black--why call attention to stock calipers?
single exhaust outlet looks downmarket--get an HKS or Stillen, paint the lowers, JDM battery cover, OEM 18s or similar OEM 19s--many versions out there(rays 19s, g37, M)
good luck.
