Has anyone ever experienced?

Hi all ,

I am new to the forum and first off thank you all for sharing your issues. It makes me feel better to know that some of the issues that I experienced, was not just me.

Now for my problem, There is something that is draining my battery (new battery and alternator) If I do not drive the car for about 12-18 hours it will drain completely, and I will have to jump it. After I drive the car for about 45 minutes, it is fine. If I go 12-18 hours without driving it, it happens again. I had the local shops look at it, hook it up to the computer with no finds. I was forced to take it to the dealer (warranty expired) pay $150 just for them to look at it. They told me that it has some exposed wire or something like that in back of the radio, and it needs a new radio ($700). I figured, if i change the radio somewhere else and get a better one it will be worth it. However, I am not buying that the wiring can be the issue. Couldn't they just cover or replace a wire? Is it a wire on the radio, or a wire that connects to the radio? I was unable to get an answer from the dealer, cause the tech and the guy who took the car in were both gone when I picked it up. Anyone else encounter that? I have a 2003 G35 about 91K.

Thank you in advance for your help

Any aftermarket electronic parts installed?

That's not normal at all. Mine will drain if I don't drive the car for 3-4 days but I also have a ton of crap that all pulls a little power for memory so it's my fault.

Found a link

I found a thread on page 3 with similiar problems. I am going to pull the radio fuse under the hood, and see if the car will start after parking it up for a day. A couple of people have confirmed that it has to do with the radio. I have mix feelings about going after a different radio. After all the dealer radio is a BOSE.
