Does anyone have this sound?

What's going on, I just started noticing in my car, at low RPM's after turning on the car driving and for like 15 minutes the car sounds like a huge truck. Like its a big heat shield or wave underneath the hood and it lags when pressing on the pedal but goes away after like 15-20 min's or driving it fast? I dunno what's up with it lol, I always think its a SUV or a truck pssing or something haha. Martin

Does this happen at part throttle, sometimes going up hill? I have noticed the engine becoming more 'growly'', sounding a little more truck like as you say. Try checking it on a different route. For me, it only seems prominent when I am driving up a particular road from home.

Re: Does anyone have this sound?

Does this occur while the AC is on? I had the AC compressor problem on my 2003 sedan. There is a ITB out for it. I had driven my sedan for several weeks with no problems, but I was stopped in traffic on a particularly hot day and I heard this gawd-awful racket that I thought was a truck with a really bad idle near me. I rolled down the window to see where the sound came from and to my amazement it was under MY hood! It did rob some power as well. Good thing was that I was on the way to the dealership to get some other stuff done - they knew exactly what it was, replaced my compressor under warranty and I have never had that problem again.

I have also noticed that the car is considerable loud when you start up but when its warmed up its nto that bad. I do not remember noticing this before. I don't think its the AC compressor as I use AC sparingly and is usually off when I start.
the car just sound loud seems like a lot of wind blowing there.

How many miles do you have on your car? I have 24k.

One thing I did notice that there is a sound if you squat down near the passenger side front wheel. Its loud and noticeable when the car is cold and just started. This is somewhat like a repeatable rattling sound maybe from the crankshaft but not sure. Any others have noticed it?

My car only sounds like a truck when I first start it. After 5-10 min's of running it, it sounds normal. It might be that we have that big 3.5 liter. My '02 maxima sounded like a truck as well. Might be the engine?

iafzal and augie, im getting the SAME EXACT wind blowing truck sounds as you. After gunning it for 5 minutes above 4k rpm's it goes away, weird!! I have 10,200 miles on my car, i was getting worried but now I guess its normal. Thx, Martin
