Damage to front differiential?

Recently, my car (2004 G35x) was parked in front of a friend's house for a few minutes, keep in mind the neighborhood was marked with yellow fire lanes and towing at owners expense if parked.
so lets skip it to where my car got towed, but it was not by flat bed, it was picked up front the rears and dragged with the front end down. it was towed maybe 2 miles down the road to the impound lot.
i asked the guy if he knew that the car was AWD and that most AWD cars if not all, needed to be flat-bedded. his arguement, "nothing is damage sir, we are professions."
my question is, with my car being towed that far, would the front differential be damaged? supposedly, the tower said he was able to disable the awd from the outside? and i was confused. i'm going to get the car looked at this week just in case.

any recommendations? yes, i know it was my fault for parking in the fire lanes but i'm just worried about my car since it was not properly towed.

They "slipped" it into neutral. They don't want a lawsuit, I wouldn't worry...

How can you slip into neutral without keys to the car?

Back to the topic, I hope they didn't really just drag the car with the front wheel being dragged on the ground. If so, you might want to take it to the dealer and have a detailed inspection. With the report, you can then determine what you might want to do... in case if your car is really damaged.

Whoa I'm getting confused, I thought we were talking about 2point6's 04 G35X, not your 6 spd rwd sedan

I'm talking about neither, I had a tow truck driver say he could get any car out of park. But, if I am wrong then please let me know.

I'm assuming he left it in gear? That sucks, guys with awd cars should put warning stickers on the windshield. "Flatbed it B!TCH its awd!"

even with that sticker, they will still do that ****.

i'm actually trying to find information on that, hopefully i wont get put in that spot but knowledge is power. even if it isn't damage done to the car right now, in the long run it could damage the gears, add more wear then normal. now a days everything should be flatbeds.

I think there is a good chance they caused some damage. I would ask them to show you how they took it out of gear...

That "shift lock" on your tranny by the shift **** is how they 'slip' it into neutral. Was your car open/unlocked?

I'd have it inspected otherwise.

That's what I thouhgt. Didn't know of any way to do it under the car. Nor would any normal tow truck driver care enough to take the time to do it.

there is technically a way, if you unhooked the wheels and the rear driveshaft but no one has that time and is that quick.

My car was towed about a week ago(wasn't starting) the dealer sent a tow truck to pick it up. the guy told me he couldnt take my car if i wasn't there b/c it's all AWD and that will damage the car.

so i showed up and he put the car in neutral and slowly drove..

so i think ur car could of gotten damage.. Definitely have it checked out

Sorry dude
