Doogie, you should be able figure that one out. Put you car in 2nd and floor it, at the precise moment when you hear woom woom woom at the redline, take a look at the speedometer. If it says 62 (it should) you have your answer. BTW, this works on all cars foreign and domestice.

It use to be that automatics with poor gearing and more drivetrain loss resulted in slower ET's and mph compared to the manual version. Today manufactures are closing this gap with 5 speed autos and closer tolerances in design/construction. For drag racing an automatic has proven to be superior for consistency. With torque converters to match your cam, weight etc. you can maximize your power provided you have traction. With the G35 as an example the autos are almost as quick and with a converter would be right there. BUT, the G35 is a sports sedan made for the twisties where a manual puts you in your powerband all the time, not to mention its a lot more fun and challenging.

gspot, the 'real' 60mph on the speedo will vary depending on tire size etc, which is why I was kind of wondering... I know it looks like the car gets to right at 60mph at redline in 2nd but I'm pretty sure that's not quite 60mph. I guess a chip and a higher redline would help the 0-60 numbers in this case.

Those times are pretty slow. I thought the G35 would be faster. Perhaps the HP is overstated...

How is 14.3 at almost 100 mph in a stock 4 door sedan slow?
