Tired of lurking, time to bite the bullet - Correction, Bullet Bit!

Alright, well, after about a year of lurking it's about time to bag up a g35 of my own. I am looking for a used sedan, autotragic (if you had my commute you'd understand) and have two questions I was hoping the crew could provide some assistance with:

(1) Between the '03-'04 and '05+ version, is there any one I should get over the other? Are there sufficent reasons I should push for one over the other?

(2) Are cluster gauges between the two years swappable? Has anyone ever tried?

Thanks for the help in advance, I look forward to joining SOON

Get an 05. It is a lot more improved over the 03-04 in terms of exterior styling, and interior fit and finish.

You just need to worry about the engine oil leak issues in the '05-'06 manual transmission models (rev-up engine).

Here are some threads I found useful when I was making my decision:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...ears-g35s.html

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...03-2004-a.html

Hope this helps.

05/06 interior is much nicer. But honestly... 03/04 with a nismo kit surpasses the 05/06 exterior style by a mile. The 05/06's seem to be more in the lux department. 03/04 with a nismo is very sporty looking and looks great. I'm not being bias at all, it's just my honest opinion

Yes he did!

Pre 05s have a really nice look with the full nismo aerokit, 19s, and a mild drop. The 05s have more attention to detail in the interior--but imo not enough to make we wish I had one. If however I had no aerokit and alot of miles, the 05 would look more appealing.

good luck.

Well, gents - I just bit! I am picking up n '04 from NC

Seller wants $19k, which is a fair price - this things kitted, dropped, custom box in trunk, headers, 19" wheels, exhaust, and some other goodies.

This is one of a few pics, (I KNOW, THE WHEELS HAVE TO GO)

To the best of my knowledge:

Tein H-Tech on OEM struts
??? 19" Wheels
Grounding Kit
2 x 12" RF Punch Subs in custom sealed box
RF Amp (don't know name)
??? Body Kit
AEM CAI
??? Exhaust
Headers are not installed
Forget the brand of the RSB
