Lowering 04 g35x... help!!!
Mods, please don't move/delete this, i know i have the two threads going, but the one in the suspension area isn't getting seen and i think it may do better here...
i've already done a search for a DIY, couldn't find anything... anyone have a link or advice? i really want to do this this weekend, i was going to get it done last weekend but i didn't notice till i had the wheels off that the G has perch mounted springs... so i don't want to just guess till i get some advice from people here who've already done it... THANKS GUYS!!!

Well.. you didn't give us too much info to go on.
Some basic notes:
1. front camber is not adjustable stock, rear is slightly but you will still need a camber kit, with toe bolts etc. I used SPC front and rear kits for my drop.
2. the X is about .4" higher than the RWD, so dropping an X is always a larger drop and therefore throws the alignment off more than RWD drops.
Some questions for you
1. What amount of drop are you going for? What springs will you use?
2. What camber kit are you going to get?
You need to do some research and understand what you will do before you tear into it. You will need spring compressors to get the springs out. You need to know all about the camber kit and how thats installed, etc.
You may already know all that, but didnt say. Let us know.
here are some helpfull diagrams from the factory service manual that might help (they show torque specs and parts)

And just for fun... my drop on my X

the springs that i bought are eibach's pro kit that were installed for about 7k on a coupe... i was actually going to buy a camber kit from hi tech g cause he's local, but unfortunately he sold it just as i got the money together... i've been shopping around for a front and rear set for a while now, but haven't really known what to look for(in terms of brands, amount of adjust-ability needed for the x etc.). i've got a spring compressor, and my two friends both have lowered maximas and are going to help me, but they dont have perch mounts and we decided it would be good to find a write up if possible before effing it all up. hope that helps to clarify what i'm looking for!
To remove the fronts -
-Loosen the 3 perimeter nuts on the top of the shock tower inside the engine bay. Remove 2 of them completely and leave one loosely on (we will return to this one shortly.
-Remove the single bolt that is holding the bottom of the strut assembly in place on the control arm.
-Have a friend hold the strut assembly while you remove the last nut in the engine bay.
-Now you should have the complete strut spring assembly off the car. (yes it is that easy) Attach your spring compressor to the coil spring and compress until there is no tension on the strut bearing plate (the part on top of the strut)
-Remove the single nut on top of the strut located in the center of the bearing plate. (this nut can be tricky as it requires holding the strut while loosening the nut. DO NOT grab the piston of the strut with any tools as you do not want to damage it. Only use tools on the small rectangle part above the threads. I do believe a 1/4 inch wrench will fit on the end.
-Once that nut is removed pull the bearing plate off while paying close attention to how everything is installed on the strut.
-Remove the original spring
-Compress the new spring and install it on the strut.
-Re-install the bearing plate and any other parts that came off.
-Re-install the nut on top of the bearing plate. (DO NOT USE AN IMPACT WRENCH WHILE INSTALLING THIS NUT) I say that since it can cause damage to the strut and you will find out quickly that G35X Struts are not cheap!!
-Now guide the new assembly back into place and have someone attach the 3 nuts in the engine bay loosely.
-Install and tighten the lower strut bolt
-Tighten the nuts under the hood.
Now repeat on the other side.
Hope that helps.
