yep, i know what you mean, that's not oem for our cars but aftermarket led kits are out there, usually very rice looking kits, but they are out there.

yes I realize its not OEM for our cars (none are)... but the ones I'm referencing aren’t stuck on the outside (as LEDs would be)... they are in the mirror.

I guess they don’t exist for anything we could use... I'm not keen on the backside blinker (back side of mirror facing front of car).

I guess I'll forgo this idea for now.

Mike, it could be done. There is a guy over on my350 who puts the V1 remote display inside the rear view mirror. I bet we could use the same type of steps to mount LEDs behind the side mirror glass.

If I could get my hands on another mirror glass I could play around with it. There are even rope LEDs that are waterproof we could use...

It's on my list of things to mess with when I get time.

These are huge! They are hideous. I've seen these in person and I would never get these.

i got the other style of those where the light runs vertical. hey you're in japan, maybe you can hook up people here and send the items back via the FPO AP and it will be cheaper that way. you can probably setup a good business that way.

I like the vertical turn signals. Does anyone have a good pic of those?

With all the skill of so many people on this forum, has anyone tried to build an LED board and lense cover that could be grafted into the existing mirrors?

I'm sure I could pick up scraped and scrapped side mirrors from my dad's shop on any day, just to practice with.... it wouldnt be a G35, but its better to practice on SOMEThing before you cut into the real deal...

I have always liked the turn signals in the mirrors anyway, so i may take this on as a little side project...

I could put LED's in the existing mirror cover. It's just dealing with the elements that make it a pain. They would fade and crack over time.
