Manual stang traps anywhere between 98 to 102. There is 103 trap bone stock but that happens as many as G35 sedan traps 99. Auto is only about 2 mph slower.
So i'm still guessing its an auto or shitty driver. but then again..anything can happen on street.

Very true...I am glad to hear the stangs are trapping so high on both ends...it's about time right! lol Take it easy.

Re: Mustang and Me, The Winner Is...

Hey Guys, just FYI, I was in 4th gear when I was at 75 mph & hit the gas, and I was in 4th gear (if memory serves me correct) when I hit the brakes at 120 mph. So my point is- I don't think it is so much about a good vs bad driver for either a manual or automatic car at those speeds. Both cars were probably in the appropriate gear when we went WOT, and I am guessing he did not change gears during our little sprint.

I don't see how 1/4 mile time/trapspeeds are the main point of the discussion where driving ability ie launch, gear shift can make a large difference. Just my 2 cents.

Do you have modified ECU? I think you have to get quite above 6600RPM stock limiter to get to 120 in the 4th gear.

Keep in mind that the gears (4 plus) in the auto are slightly different than the 6sp... 120 is attainable in 4th if I remember correctly (not that.. ahem.. I've experienced this directly or anything)

Re: Mustang and Me, The Winner Is...

Another point, if this Mustang had any mods, it posibly also had tall gears. For those that don't just "live their live 1/4 mile at a time" you will realize that tall gears translates to crap high speed perfomance, as the situation was detailed by the original poster. If you are running 4.11 gears (or the Ford equivalent), you will need huge horsepower to beat a G at highway speeds (75-120) in any resounding fashion. On the quarter mile, as many are so bent on comparing, it would be a totally different story.
