60K miles Service should i do it?
I was contemplating about doing it as well, but I started to rethink how much longer I'll have the car. I ended up not doing it, I just did basic maintenance like cabin-filter/oil change, told the mechanic to check the transmission and brake fluids. What I didn't do and will get done soon is the brake fluid flush, I heard it should be done every 30k maintenance. I was about to change the sparkplugs, but the oem ones last till 100k, but everything is check up on every 4-5k when I do my oil change, if your really planning to keep the car for a long time let's say atleast 2 years, then go for it, I'm planning to replace it within a year...
Are you seriously asking if you should do a recommended service? Well not considering the cost, treat it like an oil change. Should you do them?
Well what worked for me in the past is trying to do the maintenance separate instead on saying I want to get my 60K mile service done, also it may be better to take it to a Nissan dealer instead of an Infiniti dealer, they use the same parts. Good luck.

I am in the same situation, about to roll over to the 60k mark. I am going to have the service done in the next month or so. It includes Tranny flush and fill as well as coolant flush and fill, which has not been done on my car since 30k I believe (I am the second owner, so I am not positive, which gives me even more incentive to have the service done.) Shop around though for the service, I called my local Nissan and Infiniti dealers as well as Midas and Waltz. I got quotes anywhere from $400.00 - $900.00.
^ In that case I would definately check with Midas or somewhere similar. $600 is too much for what they are doing.

I rolled over 60K miles this summer, and here's what I did for maintenance and their costs of parts & labor:
- Replace differential oil (done by me) - $10
- Drain & refill tranny fluid (done by me) - $43
- Flush engine coolant (done by Infiniti dealer) - $149
- Replace A/C filter (done by me) - $22
- Replace battery (done by me, went with Optima Red Top) - $156
- Replace PCV valve (done by me) - $16
- Rotate & balance tires (lifetime package from local tire shop) - $0
well now, typical a battery included in the 60k but everything else is. so it should of been 250$ish for your 60k and about 3-5 hours work in the garage pending on fast anyone works. its a great way to save money if you have a floor jack, BASIC tools and time.
any typically people dont have liftetime packages for tires, so i think balancing at most stores are $50 but since the wheels are off... rotating is only a matter of how you put them on and should be free.

I did a lot of my 60K service myself. I changed the diff and trans fluids, flushed the brakes, Changed the oil and filter, etc. Instead of costing me $600, it cost less than $300. I did it to keep my extended warantee. If you plan on keeping it for many years, like I do, go for it.
I don't like the look of the new models, so I plan on keeping this car at least another 2-3 years.

I had my local mechanic complete the 60K service with the Infiniti scheduled maintanence manual. He changed the engine oil, transmission fluid, and did all the inspections.
I also wanted him to use the Nissan MT fluid since I plan to take my car in for warranty work on the transmission next month. He called the local Nissan dealership, who told my mechanic they just pick up the equivalent fluid from a local auto parts store for their own work and if they were to order the Nissan fluid, it would take 2-3 weeks.
It kind of disappoints me they these dealerships will work to void your warranty if you don't use their parts and in this case, they don't even use it themselves.
Anyways, parts and labor worked out to $260.

I'm leaning towards doing most of the service myself, depending on what the Nissan dealership down the street quotes for 60k. These services are required to keep my extended (Nissan actually) warranty, correct? If I do them myself, how is it recorded that the service was indeed done?
